Well we beat y'all by 24 so yeah we were. Also we were 1-1 against Alabama including a win in Tuscaloosa.

Dude y'all were up by double digits to start the game and y'all came out flat? To anyone watching that game it was painfully obvious LSU came out flat and Arkansas, as always in their superbowl, came out swinging. Once the game started settling in LSU showed they were head and shoulders better than Arkansas

If Iowa State hadn't upset OSU, that LSU team would have had a legitimate GOAT argument. Their schedule was brutal that year and they dominated it

The team ranked highest in the BCS would have gone to Atlanta.

I contend that they were garbage. Leave your facts out of this.

I remember when JJ did his lame-arse superman move when he scored in that Arky game the Arky fans went nuts. (Just for some backdrop, It was so lame because he totally did it because he thought Cam newton was cool for doing it in his heisman campaign the year before--but the point is he did it pretty much every game he scored in multiple times before the Arky game.

Anyway when Arky fans saw it they tried to spin it into he was making fun of the Arky player who tragically passed several days before. Supposedly that was why Petrino was mad at the end of game, along with "running up he score" which is kind of bizarre if you go back and watch how the score to get to 41-17 came out. The whole thing seemed really strange to me except it wasn't because it was Petrino we were talking about.

Assuming we would have beaten Okie State, which definitely was not a given. But the whole LSU nation felt deflated and lost any adrenaline and enthusiasm when the media got their rematch
for a 3rd place SEC team with the 54th ranked SOS over 12-1 Conference champion Okie State with the 9th ranked SOS.

They will always spout that nonsense. It was a defining moment in their program's history. Before that game many a LSU fan were comparing Miles to Saban and declaring them to be evenly matched coaches.

1/9 shattered that illusion and began the downward spiral of their football program. All they have left are what ifs and anger over the fact that Alabama made it into the championship game. In three or four years, when LSU has completely collapsed under Orgeron, they will still be looking back on 11/5 as the last shining moment in their program's somewhat above average history.

Just the logic it takes to say that Alabama was #3 in the SEC because Georgia played in the SEC title game.

Absolutely inaccurate. That Arkansas team was loaded and playing excellent football leading up to that game. There was a tragedy that occurred 4 days before the LSU game, and that team that showed up in BR wasn't the same team that had righted the ship since having their a** whipped by Bama, and was very flat. Don't think for a second that that Leslie Miles led LSU team with JJ at QB was head and shoulders above that Arkansas team, and sure as heck not in the same league as that Alabama team. While we're truthing it up, never forget that Oklahoma State was a better team than LSU and should've been playing for that Natty.

Lol. You must be drunk. Compare both of those rosters man. It isn't even close. Nice troll

I thought after Arkansas nailed our RB Ford causing him to fumble and it be returned for a TD that we were for sure fricked.

I was there and was going nuts after that play. So many LSU fans around saying how it's bullshite that they beat Bama and aren't going to play for the title because Arkansas always plays them like the Super Bowl haha. Then for some unknown reason and I still call it Petrino's pride, we kick it to Tyrann. The guy is the most legit returner in the last decade and we kick it strait to him right down the middle of the field lol. I'll contend forever that dumbass kick turned the tide and LSU didn't look back. Probably still one of the worst play calls in Arkansas history.

I hated losing that game to Bama, but let's be honest - if we were in Bama's shoes and lost at home all thing the same. No chance in hell we sniff the title game IMO, that is ridiculous to think. We had a chance to silence everyone and we lost to a great Bama team in the game that mattered. But don't strut around here like it was meant to be yours. Bama was the 2nd best team (ranked in the country) going into the natty no doubt, but did the deserve to be there looking at everything? Probably not.

If Arkansas wins that game is their an Arkansas Alabama rematch in the title game

Doubtful. If Arky had won, it would have come down to BCS rankings, and LSU/Bama would almost certainly have remained the top two, so the SEC West title would have come down to head to head between LSU and Bama. So, LSU would have gone to Atlanta, beaten Georgia and then faced Alabama in the NC game.

But, Arky could totally rock one of these, though...
