Ive been begging people in the SEC to give Petrino a shot again. He could take Saban down

He lost 49-14, 35-7, 24-20 and 38-14 the times he coached against Saban. I don't think Nick is losing any sleep about Bob coming back to the SEC.

I think Norvell is a good coach, but I'd like to see if he can maintain what Fuente built at Memphis for a few more years. This is just his second season as a head coach and he inherited a strong program from Fuente. If we could pull that cat from VT, I'd be happy.

Fuente isn't leading V-Tech for Arkansas.

Jeff Brohm would have been THE guy for the job, but he's not going to leave Purdue after one year. LSU should have nabbed him once Herman fell through. Taggart or Brohm would have both been much better hires than O.

Every other news outlet on the world wide web is reporting the buyout to be $15 million but arkansasonline.com has it pegged at less than $6 million.

Interesting.

People would have said the same about Bielema leaving Wisconsin.

I know just enough about the way this works to know that these coaches will always jump at the money if you offer enough.

Unless they just don't like the program anyways. But with Fuente being from Tulsa, I doubt he has any ingrained disdain for Arkansas.

i believe that was due to an issue he had with alvarez and getting $$$ for assistants. as long as VT gives Fuente the resources he asks for I don't see him leaving for arkansas.

Arkansas would be foolish not to give it a shot. Throw the right money out there and the allure of working 90 minutes from your hometown may land him

That's the website for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which is the largest paper in Arkansas.

and i wouldn't be surprised if jeff long nudged them into taking a look at those buyout numbers again. i'm sure he has gotten tired of being roasted daily over the buyout.

A lot of people do owe him an apology if this is the case. Including myself.
