Tennessee's number is complete bs. They chose that number after UA announced its final number a few years ago.

You do realize that we used to seat a whole lot more than that? 102k+ is our downsized stadium post skyboxes. Or maybe I should follow your lead and claim A&M put 57 extra seats into their new stadium plan just so they could say their new stadium was bigger than Neyland.

And we don't even have the whole thing enclosed

Imagine how big it would be then

Ugh, they can hold 500 more people than we can.

I'm sure we can fit 501 people in BDS, it's not that hard. Hell, the Million Dollar Band is already at 400.

So they are counting the corndog vendors in that number?

LSU

I'm not sure who else in the SEC figures capacity this way, but they have a point. All of those people are inside the stadium during a game. I guarantee this is how a fire marshal sees capacity.

And after all, it's not like we wouldn't be over 100,000 seats anyway. From the expansion update pics, you can easily see where LSU added additional seats from what they originally planned.

Honestly at this point everyone is in a pissing match about a difference of 1k seats or so between 4 beautiful stadiums. Neyland, BDS, Tiger Stadium, and Kyle (when it's done) will all be cathedrals of them game for years to come. Along with stadiums like JHS, Ben Hill Griffin and Sanford. Why can't we all just enjoy that? I love being able to go to away games and experiencing all of them. No need to compare them based on seat size or dick measuring

Well said. SEC has more "cathedrals" than even the Big 11. :)

I really enjoyed Ole Miss's stadium even though it's "small"

Because we're all to shallow and our ego's are too big to let someone else one up us in stadium size. Expect teams like Texas, USC and FSU to join in the arms race sooner or later. ND and OU are already underway (even though OU isn't increasing seating capacity.)

Texas, yes they have a whole endzone that they can expand. Can USC really add on to the Coliseum? Believe it or not FSU always has tons of empty seats and has a small fanbase by SEC standards.

Texas will most likely go the LSU route and expand their endzone with mostly premium seating. Even with their huge fanbase, adding 20,000+ seats in the endzone seems like a bad idea, especially considering the amount of big-money donors that would fill the additional suites and clubs.

Don't think Texas wants to be outdone by A&M. It's only a matter of time before they have plans for more seats, suites in their stadium

Oh they'll definitely make sure to pass A&M, but I don't think they'll follow their original plan for 120,000+ that's been on the internet for a few years.

FIFY

Prior capacity was 92,542. This expansion added "60 "Tiger Den" suites, 3,000 club seats and 1,500 general public seats."

In no world does that add up to over 102,000 people sitting in a seat watching the game. I'm sorry but the guy selling corndogs does not count like LSU is trying to do. This might be more sad than UT making the seats smaller. They just couldn't handle Bammer having a bigger stadium even after expanding.

It looks great though.

WTF? So they are counting literally every person inside that stadium including anyone working at the facility. GTFO with that. That's embarrassing. Tell us how many seats you have. Now Bama, aTm, and UT will start claiming over 106,000 "stadium capacity".

You should write LSU a letter expressing your concerns.

HAppy to have great stadiums in our confernece.

I know some Longhorn fans that were upset with the lack of foresight shown by their admins. The fans would rather travel to UGA/Bama/Auburn/LSU/FLA than OSU/KSU/ISU/Kansas

LSU could still add ontop of the student section and blow everyone out of the water.

Who cares about seating capacity. THe name if the game now is in game amenities.

No I read that part and it is complete BS. I don't know of any others tacking on an extra 5,000 capacity by claiming their concessions vendors and sideline press passes. If LSU wants to claim 102,000 then the rest of us will tack on another 5k as well. Either way its pretty embarrassing.
