I think this new scheduling is going to be a negative for the SEC. I'm really going to miss playing our annual west games. Fans love to say someone is or isn't a rival to beat their chest but every team in the west has had good wins and tough loses over the years and that familiarity has been great. Changing it seems like it's going to remove all the mini rivalries the sec is known form week in and week out. If I had to pick one West school, I really would like to play every year, it would have to be LSU. Great games typically, tough, and passionate fans. I would hate to be a player and think I had to go to the dump in Missouri every other year.

I’m fine with Aggie. They much more of a rival than Ar-Kansas ever was.

After a decade plus in the SEC, I still don't understand LSU's position regarding rivals. Best I can come up with:

1. Themselves
2. Sobriety
T3. Ole Miss/Miss St
5. Florida
T6. Arkansas/Texas A&M
8. Tulane

Well that is sort of the issue with LSU. LSU fans are all at odds with who is the #1 rival for LSU because in reality LSU does not have 1 team that everybody that is part of the program, former players from all eras, fans from all age groups, Administrators from various eras that are still around, former coaches who are still living in Baton Rouge area,

So LSU fans are as you say kind of rivals among themselves, LOL.

So you poll 100 LSU fans that covers all age and demographics, you will not find 1 team that gets more than 50% of the vote as to who is the #1 rival. I don't think you would get a clear top 2. You will get Bama, Florida, Ole Miss, Aggie as the likely top 4 but no consensus.

Vols would likely take Kentucky over Vandy. Bama would be #1 but I get the Auburn would be #1 for them.

Florida would be Bama and their #1 is likely Auburn.

Did you actually go to the bother to check TAMU vs LSU under Jimbo? I didn't think so.

Jimbo loves beating LSU and it's funny as hell but he's going to be fired in 1 or 2 more seasons, and Kelly likely has LSU rolling along by that time.

That said, my issue is less that A&M is a gimme for LSU, and more that Vandy/Kentucky is a gimme for Tennessee.

Flip LSU with MSU and this is exactly what it will be.

Just feel lucky, it’s consistently the only trophy you Piglets play for.

Terrible. No interest. No history.

Texas TAMU
MSU Miss St
Alabama Auburn
Vols Vandy

UofSC keeps Clemson
Kentucky keeps Louisville
UGA keeps GaTech
Florida keeps FSU
LSU gets Tulane
OK keeps Okie St

Mizzou and Arky deserve each other.

This thread isn't about who plays during rivalry week. It's about who each SEC school's permanent conference opponent will be.

As much as I want to always play OU, A&M and Ark, if this allows us to play more teams more often, one rival game would work for me.

I get a kick out of Arkansas fans crying over playing us.

Then I remember, they can’t beat us so I guess I get it.

Bama Auburn would trump UGA Auburn and Vols Bama. This is why pods is the only real way to do this.

It honestly may work out this way given other teams rivalries but Vanderbilt is behind BAMA, UF and UK for UT's rivals. Some in Nashville might argue for Vandy over UK but the giant border we share with Kentucky plus the basketball rivalry trumps Vandy being in-state.

It should be BAMA but I think the politics within the state of Alabama will make it so that Auburn comes first.

Would prefer AL-UT and AU-UGA to keep older rivals and traditions alive.

Stop the press with this one.

Your coach is killing TSIO with his stance and your state will pressure you to pick Auburn over us. You can't turn around and throw stones when this is pretty well your team's fault. I'd personally rather play BAMA.
