I honestly can see Harbaugh and Meyer using recruits as pawns to meddle with each other. If schools start attempting to use this as an advantage, imagine what that could do to college football. It needs to be changed, yyou're trying to close the deal. If a kid signs a FAA, you dont have a reason to think that they're not gonna sign a LOI and enroll. Not if you're a good recruiter.

Can a kid sign multiple FAA's if he is unsure which school he will early enroll in?

I think so. They aren't binding as it applies to the recruit.

Then they should just remove whatever rule or lack there of that lets you have more contact with a recruit after signing the FAA. I mean why even allow a school to have that contact knowing you will penalize them if an 18 year old changes his mind.

I just don't see the point in it. Keep all contact the same until LOI or kid attends his first class for EE's.

I don't know the ins and outs, but I'd imagine some contact is necessary to make sure the kid's schedule and all is in order.

LSU can and should sue Alabama for tortuous Interference with contract under Mississippi law. The SEC set it up beautifully and stupidly for that.

Glad to handle for free as I have already made enough money off suing Alabama companies for this. Mississippi has One of strongest TIC laws in the country.

It was a stupid ruling. LSU acted in good faith within the rules but they could not control what the kid ultimately did. They took him at his word and the player reneged.

Alabama acted within NCAA rules and contined to recruit the player. You would have to prove they acted with malice and intended to cause LSU to be sanctioned. Good luck counselor, you will need it, this isn't a company you'll be suing or an ambulance you're chasing.

It could very well have happen to any SEC school

Sorry, but I don't think it would happen to "all" SEC schools.

Gonna sanction them for a kid who signed his financial aid papers AND then decommitted. Sorry... but that's BS.

Agree. Clearly Richt has lost control of NCAA rules. Seriously though, the rule is bullshite.

Womack's father is quoted saying LSU elected not to use the "allowed" extra contact, which tells me, and anyone else with any common sense, that they believed the kid wasn't solid.

What's interesting is they obviously did contact him, eventually. Again, anyone with common sense here would assume that contact was to get the ball rolling with his enrollment in classes and to get his housing squared away.

Basically, it sounds like LSU got a sanction for trying to help the kid get everything squared away to begin school in the spring.

Based on what? Why wouldn't the standard amount of allowed contact been sufficient to do these things?

Based on the fact that someone from LSU called him in December to make sure he was ready to enroll.
