Shhhh, you're making Bama's loss look less embarrassing.

There are two SEC teams that keep the gumps awake at night. Very few gump threads make it to tSECr without the OP or other gump posters mentioning one or both of them.

I think Bama's Secondary problems have been around longer than the last two years. There just hasn't been many QBs in the SEC that could exploit them. The ones that could (Cam, JFF, Knight, Murray, Marshall and OSU third stringer), gave them problems. I do not see that changing in the near future.

This thread further proves that bama fans don't have anything else going on in life besides bama football.

The problem in the secondary isn't a talent or scheme issue. It is a fundamental issue. But it also doesn't help that there hasn't been a talent like Kirkpatrick, Milliner, or Jackson the last two seasons. First round CBs don't grow on trees.

Moving forward I feel okay about the secondary. There are pieces to build around. Cyrus Jones is a very solid corner that's overcome a steep learning curve. The depth is young and talented. The concern is finding safeties and another boundary corner. Another season like 2013 and 2014 is certainly likely, with a lot of youth. I guess we will see.

How many 12 win seasons did Alabama have before Saban?

Three, which is three more than LSU had before Saban.

So in 11 years, LSU has had the same level of success that Alabama had in 120 years prior to Saban being hired?

Run stoppers, but not the best pass covers. I think Dre had two INTs in his entire career.

3 of the next four. We have it all folks. Secondary play will be fixed and we have the best front seven in the nation.

How so? I don't see any easy fix for your secondary unless you're relying on true freshmen coming in which is its own issue. And your defense as a whole is getting burnt by high octane offenses because you've recruited size and power which while great against many teams comes at the cost of speed against those high powered offenses. The college game is far too diverse on the offensive side of the ball to rely on defense being great against all teams and you have to make the choice at the recruiting stage of what type of defensive player to recruit and what type of defense to run before a game is ever played.

Right now, Bama relies on sheer size and power and while that's great against pro style offenses, it can become a weakness against spread offenses which are DESIGNED to spread the field and wear those big boys the hell out, especially when that offense is full of 5* talent.

Offense will be back to shoving folks around. Will happen.

Again how so? I could make the same baseless claim about our terrible oline - should folks just take me at my word that it'll happen? You're going to need further proof or at least evidence based projections for such a broad statement. You have a very good freshman tackle, for instance, who projects to make great progress from year 1 to year 2 but what of the rest of your line?

To be fair, they also have Oklahoma, Utah, and ULM.
