I don't think OSU was the inferior opponent. Just the opposite.

Shhhh, you're making Bama's loss look less embarrassing.

You have to LOVE all the sour grapes in here. They should open another forum just for them and call it Dickriders.

Alabama wins the SEC and goes to the first ever college football playoffs. We lose to a deserving National Champion in a game we very well could have won by 6. In a good competitive game. OSU blows out the Mighty Ducks, who blew out the FSU Criminoles the previous week.

In spite of all the whining and begging and tooth gnashing in here, none of it means crap. Alabama is NOT going away and if you plan on winning the SEC, the road goes through Tuscaloosa. Same thing with the National Title.

This is really the first year under Saban that Bama was in the title game (now semis) and lost. Losses to Utah/OU etc don't matter as much, simply because you can argue what's another BCS bowl level win for a program that level.

I think Bama will continue to be extremely good, but Saban needs to figure out what to do about these spread offenses.

It's hard to find the right guy who can play 2 positions. Mosley for example could cover a guy and also play the run extremely well. Darron Lee for OSU is a little smaller than Mosley so he may move a bit better, but isn't quite as good against the run. Those hybrid guys are the ones that I'm not sure Bama has stockpiled enough of yet, the S/LB guys who they can leave in to stop the run, but still defend the spread

Bama did not get hurt so much by normal spread plays, the quick passes and zone reads. It was the big plays..slow developing long passes that got us. We ask a LOT of our corners, sometimes maybe too much.

We should have the best defensive front we have had in years, and the most versatile. We can go big like we always have vs the LSU's and Arkansas of the world, and we also have pass rushers like Jonathan Allen, DJ Pettway, Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson and Rashaan Evans.
Speed and power. In the secondary Cyrus Jones played awful well down the stretch, we have to develop the other corner and there will be a lot of experience back, we should be much improved there.

We do need some young safeties to step up. That and fill the other ILB slot. But the defense should be better vs the pass this go round.

The last two years Bama lost the biggest game of the year. Bama has been lucky in their two Natties, playing a mulligan game and an over rated NDame. With the playoffs, luck and beauty contest ERA over, Natties will not happen. Yes 55-44

Sucks that when your team is so bad you have root against your rival to eventually find some small victory. But hey, war eagle right?

NtY

But two national titles? Please explain the third in 2009. Or did that never happen in your fantasy world?

Oklahoma, Utah, and ULM? I heard crack was on the rise in Alabama. Glad to see the proof.

What does ULM have to do with losses in the Sugar Bowl?

I think Bama was open to a lot of the deeper crossing routes, 15-20 yards where the LBers have to play in coverage in front of the safeties. I know Marshall from OSU was able to exploit it a few times, but not sure how that carried over from the rest of the season of course

I remember from before the OSU/Bama game both sides were saying it would be great to win now, but both teams had so many young guys playing they would likely both be better in 2015.
