I thought Big Jeb would be the next big thing, but this new kid, early enrollee, might push for playing time.
This is a good problem to have, and the kind of thing I enjoy arguing about.
Jackson Harris 6-6 250# earl enrollee, already on campus.

He and Jeb seem like two different kinds of TEs. Jeb is a more sleek, Orson Charles like hybrid receiver whereas Harris seems to be the more traditional sixth lineman. Honestly, I think both will flourish under Schott's offense. If Rome can't go this year due to injury, Harris will be able to fill in seamlessly.
ETA: Based on the link posted on here earlier showing Schott's use of two TE sets, I think we're in really good shape moving forward.

Remember when Jay Rome was a big deal?

Toe injuries, man. Small in size but virtually impossible to play on. Sucks because he has good size for a TE.

I remember that TD in the 2012 SECCG and that's about it.

That's pretty much the last time he was healthy.

Schott likes double tightend sets and a power running game. I'm sure he's jizzing in his pants with those two and chubb.

If Jay Rome could stay healthy he could be as talented as any TE we've had. I think he's that good - or close to it. But if you can't stay on the field because you're hurt, ....

The great thing about Harris is that he already has the size of an SEC tight end. Him getting on campus this early is huge. He can be a huge asset for us next year, both as an extra blocker and a pass catcher.
He is going to be a good one.

Jay Rome has the best hands of them all. He doesn't always get the right route though. He made a phenomenal one handed catch while twisting around during the Spring game either last year or the year before.

The power scheme is really not that great of an idea in a balanced set with two tights. Especially in todays world where odd man fronts are the largest consencus. Zone is the best scheme bc it covers all of the gaps and you can change the play to the side of the field where you have the best numbers.

How many tight ends do we have

Rome looks like a wide reciever. He lost so much weight I forget he is a tight end. Jeb kinda reminds of Lynch's body type more than Charles.

Richt has always had a hard on for tight ends. I did love me some leonard pope.
