Literally the only person that could make free throws consistently was Bloodman.

That's just fricking stupid.

Hell he is already our radio announcer. I said today we should just fire Ray and move him to HC.

When I heard he was helping Ray in practice a little I immediately assumed they were preparing for that as at least an interim. Not sure if he still is or if that was just a few practices or something.

Pearl and Frank Martin are both very good hires in the SEC in just the last few years. Auburn and USCe were able to make better hires than us when MSU basketball was actually respectable and could have attracted plenty of good coaches.

Now, because of Stricklin's terrible hire, we are a complete dumpster fire and won't be able to attract any proven coach. Probably will be forced to take a stab at another no-name assistant coach and pray he works out. Lets just hope Scott realizes to take assistants from under half-way successful coaches.

Aside from that, I was thinking of all the candidates we could have gotten if we had thrown the right money at them. Who all was it again? I can remember Kenny Payne, Pearl, Jeff Capel.

It wasn't a terrible hire by Stricklin, it was the only one. It was already a dumpster fire thanks to Stansbury. Don't get it twisted.

But we can all agree that it's obvious now that Ray isn't going to turn it around, so who would be available that we can throw money at? I think we need to make a big splash with the next hire.

Yeah, about that. No one worth a shite was taking our HC position at that time. Everyone in the country knew it was a steaming pile of shite job when Stansbury left. Just like Taxman said, it was the only hire.

I'm not sure you understand what happened that led to Stansbury's leaving... I'd say this situation is pretty comparable to the end of the Sherrill years and the Croom years that followed.

Also, Pearl wasn't available when we were hiring.

Why wasn't Pearl? And who else were our options?

He had a show clause that lasted like 3 or 4 months even after Auburn hired him, it just ended before the season.

Kenny Payne was literally the only other name I can even remember being brought up and I'm not sure if he even had interest in the job.

If tyndall were actually getting fired, we wouldn't even have to do a search.

Honestly I care more about the job Stricklin has done in other areas than I do about basketball. Sometimes you have to shoot a hostage.

That being said, we need to nail this hire.

Do I need to pull out the same argument given for Mullen about "How far our athletics have come under his tenure"? Stricklin has brought us a long way. I used to nail him about Adidas as well but they have improved greatly it seems. Give a customer what they want and you'll get amazing results..I digress.

If he gets fired for the reasons they want him fired, he won't be coaching, or at least head coaching, for several years.
