I want Orgeron for the comedy aspect. I don't care if he can coach.

Taxman, you seriously need to take a break from the slam Mullen train.

I'm sorry but Mullen is the one who makes the big bucks. He's the one responsible for every aspect of the game. Throwing the defensive coaches under the bus after the EB was beyond ridiculous because it is he who is ultimately responsible.

If he truly want's to be blameless for a defense then we need a DC who gets paid like a top DC. Mullen created this environment, why shouldn't he be blamed?

ETA: I'll stop now. Bring us Orgeron and let the grunting commence!

I'm not sure who is to blame but the turnover we have at the DC position is ridiculous.

Diaz is the only one I melted about, and had he stuck around a year I might not have melted about that one either. Haven't minded any of the other 3. Was actively pulling for Torbush and Wilson to leave and not really upset about Collins.

Seems we have a trend of guys showing up, showing us glimpses of elite defensive potential in year 1, getting everyone worked into a tizzy in excitement for year 2, and then failing to deliver. Collins underperformed this year relative to how good I thought we should be on that side.

Fletcher Cox pretty much made Wilson look half way competent in 2012.

I can't say that a top 10 scoring defense in the nation and our best since 99 is underperforming. I'm not sure how good you expected them to be.
I understand that our YPG was terrible but at the end game all that matters is how much you scored and how much you let your opponent score.

I'm not about to jump off of a bridge like Taxman but I'm also not dismissing it like you.

Even if you you want to argue about defense you can't deny that his recruiting and morale building will be missed.

Lesson there is stay away from defensive coaches that cut their teeth in the Big 12.

That scoring statistic is misleading b/c of us blanking Vandy & USM and holding USA to 3. Outside of Arky and Vandy, the rest of our 6 SEC opponents scored 20 +, with four teams scoring over 28. Nothing great about that.

Middle of the pack scoring D when you look at conference-only games...

Middle of the pack total D as well...

Overall, it's not as bad as overall total D projects it -- but it isn't as good as scoring D projects it either.

Face it -- this team was supposed to have a top 10-15 overall defense. We brought back everything off a top 25 D last year. Odds were stacked in our favor. We underperformed relative to that. Not drastically enough for us to want Collins fired -- but drastic enough that no one is going to melt about him leaving...

Is Chris White's performance against Florida the GHPOAT (Greatest Honky Performance of All Time) for MSU?

Tied with Cam Lawrence vs Auburn in 2012.

He knew more Auburn plays than Chizik.
