What pain train are you hitching to?
I'm in Clark's Corner

I think Bundy already texted Dan, since Clark already got all those great Alabama reviews and Bundy never replied..

I can't help but root for Orgeron.

That would be great on so many levels. Freeze would be working vs. his mentor.

It would be one of the best Christmas presents we could ask for.

There would be some legit fear in Oxford for that recruiting class.
If you think about it, we have the brand new high performing car:
Orange Bowl berth
10 wins
Bowl games since 2010
good graduation rates
NFL draft picks every year
No real criminal troubles
We just need a non-dick to sell it like Brewster did and possibly O.

On the 9th day of Christmas, coach Mullen gave to me...

I just hope our fans are reasonable. Until we start paying like one of the big boys then big names will turn us down and our most coveted coaches will leave us.
With Collins now out we now have zero coaches in the top 185 as far as salary. I'm not saying any deserve it; I'm just throwing that out there. 2.6 million to split between assistants isn't a lot, especially considering when big name assistants are getting around a million.

Mullen certainly has ammo with this season to up those numbers.

Him or Bill Clark. With the way Collins recruited Alabama, I think we will get Clark to fill that void.

I agree, we should be beyond money troubles now with all the success we've had. I know the school has been taking advantage of it because I've gotten calls no shite every single week this season from Starkville.
I think we should counter offer Collins, it's not all said and done yet right? But, if we get Coach O or Clark I'll be fine.

No, it's done. Collins is gone. Time to start our search.

We were 12th in the SEC in yards given up per game. And you want to counter offer Collins?

I'm with you. Would be excited about Clark. And given that he's already been a HC, he's potentially a viable candidate to replace Mullen should he leave at some point down the line.

Our assistant salary pool was set to bump up 20-25% this year BTW... Everyone is still getting raises...
ETA: Across MSU sites it appears I'm in a large minority, but I don't want Orgeron anywhere near our DC job. I'd love to have him on staff and wish we would pay him $1mil to get him here. Would be fine with him getting Turner's job and a Co-DC title if it means paying him. In his long career, he's never actually been a DC and called plays/schemes. He spent one year 2 decades ago in FCS as a LB coach. The SEC isn't the place to learn that aspect of coaching IMO...

I wasn't aware that it was a done deal. and yes, I think Collins is a damn good coach, it might be because of the motivational aspects of his process and not his actual abilities as a DC. I think he is a good and creative recruiter as well.
His game plan this year obviously wasn't the greatest, and you know who I blame that on? Mullen of course, if it was a dumb idea he should have spoke up and said, "Hey this 1A 1B shite ain't gonna work." "Hey this bend but done break shite ain't gonna work here in the SEC West." Mullen is in charge.
Which is one reason why we probably won't get Coach O, Mullen's ego won't allow it.

People need to make their god damn minds up.
Is it Mullen's fault that the defense was shite, or can we not go after big name coaches because they don't want Mullen meddling in their defense.
Taxman, you seriously need to take a break from the slam Mullen train.

We've had a lot of success recruiting in Alabama recently, Clark would be absolutely huge in sustaining and building on that.

The amount of NCAA violations that would be committed would make the NCAA's head explode. They would open up a base in Mississippi
