I understand there are contracts well into the 20's.
But will public outcry force a change in the relatively near future?
If you have a crystal ball, I'd like you to use it and tell me all the answers.
I say under 6 years.

2 years.
expand to 6 teams, call it quits, return to BCS

Three years after bama gets one of the spots without winning their division. LSU fans have a loud voice that can't be denied.

I don't think they change it for a while. This year will prove to be an anomaly. jmo

Saban has a bunch, but everyone gets upset when he throws in his two cents.

Bottom line: no changes will be made during the length of this contract (not easy to add games to the schedule)

I don't follow your logic.

There will be a new system in 2016. After Bama loses this year and their fans, and possibly Nick Saban will bitch until they come up with something new by this summer which will take affect for the 2016 season

Either become a semi-pro minor league or remain college football.
I dunno how to explain it

Now I'm confused even further..
What does this have to do with adding games to the schedule?

When a 1 loss Bama, Notre Dame, or Texas team gets shut out - it will change.
All others . . meh.

I really think as soon as two major conferences get boned, it will change.

How many total games would the national champion play in an 8 team playoff plus the regular season? Too many, imo & the people that run football think like I do
Also feels like Nascar's, "The Chase"

Yesterday would be a year late. Oh I long for the days of the BCS.

They'd play just one more game than they do in this current model.

Feel the same.
Don't understand the term 'Power 5', with a 4 team playoff.
Seems like the contradiction in that will result in change sooner than later.

I think they'll give it at least 15 years. There's always going to be controversy.

after the Big 12 has a championship game and ND enters a conference

How often does a single team play three top eight teams in a row? And when they do, the pundits say it's impossible to win them all. This isn't like basketball where the top seeds play scrubs for the first three rounds. No. 8 in college football is a damn strong, violent team.
The winner is more likely to be who sustains the fewest injuries rather than the best team.
