I'd not be surprised in the least if we have an 8 team playoff within the next two years.

Heard on TV that the current contract is for 12 years. That's a long time to see if it works. I prefer 8 teams and no more. 8 is just right. 12 years to wait.

I agree with what you're saying.

Especially considering the conference championship game is essentially a playoff game.

I don't think it would be fair to ask a team to win a conf champ game, then a quarterfinal game, then a semi, then the natty.

But I also don't see how we can have 5 power conferences and 4 playoff spots, that isn't gonna fly for long.
