Attendance down yesterday at SECCG: Reasons?

I've gone to every game since 2008 except 2011.
Each year I was offered north of 300 for my upper corner seats in Sherpa land.
This year, the guy next to me told me he could not sell his extra seats for 20 dollars.
I know Alabama has had a magnificent run since 2008, but I was surprised that the game was not a full house. There were empty seats in the lower bowl.
Is the playoff the reason for interest being down for an SECCG?
Are Bama fans tired of ATL with 2 kickoff classics and 4 SECCG since 2008?
Is Mizzou to far away to really drive East sales?
I know USC showed up big time in 2010. I saw UGA show up in huge numbers in 2012. I know Florida traveled in 2008 and 2009.
I enjoyed the game, but the atmosphere was not electric like the others SECCG

Alabama had at least 80% of the stadium. Blame Mizzou.

Mizzou fans knew the outcome and stayed home

Looked pretty full to me in person.

Definitely didn't try very hard. There are tons of just general college football fans who aren't even Bama fans who would have gone for that cheap. I would have paid $40 to see any SEC west team play a decent SEC team.

new the outcome
Yep, KNEW the same outcome as last time was a given.
In any event I blame the playoffs and the fact that a lot of corporate seats were empty, that would have been filled with Georgia

I was there and it was close to packed. Game was a sell-out so some people just didnt show or sell their extras, but only noticed a few empty seats in the upper deck in the Mizzou section. Bama fans filled about 85 percent of the place, so we def. did our part. Had a blast and enjoyed the atmosphere.

2011.
Only SEC championship game that I have been to, LSU vs UGA and it was very full and electric.

Mizzou is the reason.
SEC fans aren't as excited to watch Alabama play Mizzou as they would be for a traditional match up.
Also, nobody expected the game to be competitive. Mizzou fans expected to get stomped and chose not to make the 11 hour drive to Atlanta because of it. Mizzou contingency was not good.

The SEC needs to move this game around. There isnt shite to do in Atlanta unless you like getting mugged. Ive been to 3 seccgs and 3 peach bowls. Atl sux

Partially, and all the more reason to not go from 4 to 8 or 16 in a CFB Playoff

They are still adapting to the ways of the South. Not yet evolved to send the raging hordes yet but maybe someday when they get what this all means. I read they had like 9,000 donors in their pool. I think UK has 50,000 in theirs and Bama probably has at least half of that. Selling out starts with bodies in the donor pool.

Mizzou fans don't travel

Mizzou fans sacrificed a lot of meth to attend the 2013 game. Can't do that 2 years in a row.
