Casual fans, died-hard fans, old fans, young fans, white fans, black fans.....ALL fans hate Bama football.......and Nick Saban is the devil too.

Is the playoff the reason for interest being down for an SECCG?

Yeah but not from an interest standpoint. More like $. Who can pay for these trips?

Are Bama fans tired of ATL with 2 kickoff classics and 4 SECCG since 2008?

Not us real ones. Even if we're broke or saving money, we can easily watch the game in a bar with other Tide fans and have fun doing it. Bama fans are everywhere.

Is Mizzou to far away to really drive East sales?

If you had to drive through Illinois to make it to Atlanta, you might re-think it too.

I know USC showed up big time in 2010. I saw UGA show up in huge numbers in 2012. I know Florida traveled in 2008 and 2009.

USCe is starved. UGA is only 70 miles from Atlanta. Florida fans travel very very well. And their travelling fans are probably the best ones to hang out with in the country.

I enjoyed the game, but the atmosphere was not electric like the others SECCG

No offense to Missouri but that's who we were playing. After the first 3 minutes of the game, the outcome was never in serious doubt.

Ain't that the damn truth. That's why I moved out here to Colorado. Not in the military and didn't move for a job. Just left Atlanta in the dust.

Alabama had like 85% of the stadium. When one team barely brings anybody and it's up to one team to totally fill the stadium, attendance might suffer.

Also, the Bama fanbas does have a bit of Atlanta fatigue.

4 Chick Fil A Kickoff games and 4 SEC title games in the span of 7 years, Alabama is averaging over 1 trip to Atlanta per season.

I was there and I'd say it was pretty much exactly 80/20 Alabama. Mizzou completely owned 1/4 of the lower bowl and was a majority in the upper deck of that 1/4 (I was in this area). The rest was all Bama.

It definitely wasn't 75/25 but it definitely wasn't 90/10 either.

Also, as I've said a lot already, I spent 12 hours driving to Atlanta and 12 hours driving back to Columbia. When you know your team is going to get killed, of course a lot of fans will choose not to go.

Really? Florida fans have long had a reputation of not traveling very well to games outside the state of FL. I went with some buddies to the 2008 SECCG when UF and Baby Jesus beat Bama, and I'd say that the crowd was about 70/30 in favor of Bama.

I think most people expected the new playoff format to have an impact on conference championship games held at neutral sites. It will be tough for most fans to cough of that kind of money for tickets/travel and then be able to do it again if their team is selected to participate in the playoffs. Bama is lucky in that their semi-final game is relatively close to home. It will be interesting to see how many FSU fans make the trek out West for the Rose Bowl.

That's not true. I think a lot of people forget that our fanbase is nowhere near as big as many in the SEC.

We haven't had the advantage of being in a football crazy conference for decades, and our program went through a long spell where we were flat out garbage. That really hurt. It's building back and should only get better being in the SEC.

Cool

Wanna guess how many times Mizzu has sold out their visitor's allotment in SEC play?

How many stops did you make? We left at 9 and got back by 530
And FWIW: Bama easily has 85% of the stadium.

My parents were there and they said it was closer to 90% Alabama. Other than that glob of Mizzou fans in the lower bowl there weren't any other large clumps in the building.

At least 90% Bama. The only true Mizzou section was right around their band. Other than that the stadium was Crimson. I was surprised by the amount of Bama fans there.

With basically half of the tickets going not directly to either school, surprised as many Mizz made it as they did. If I recall the zipcodes I saw long ago, AL residents hold the second largest amount of renewal tickets due to the early years when you got the chance to renew each year moving forward if you bought them.

Prices were def down over previous years.
