yeah Blame Bama fans on a forum for this. Because Bama the #1 football team isn't going to hear nor care about this. Falling on deaf ears so to speak....

edit: I will say this is very sad and Who knows what it would've took to save UAB football....

frick you for not supporting the UAB program. Birmingham is closer to you than Tuscaloosa. You're nothing but a front-runner.

The rifle and bowling teams were informed they we're cut via email.

You have to feel for the kids on this one. They got fans in the stands, improved their record to bowl eligibility, got support from Roddy White and gave State a run for their money. Still, it wasn't enough and these kids either have to give up football long before they thought they would, or need to transfer immediately. For some, that means greener pastures (that Soph. RB) but for others, I'm sure it is either JuCo or FCS.

I understand Bama's POV here but it just sucks for the kids.

Players on scholarship can remain at UAB; their scholarships will be honored until completion of their original athletic eligibility. They also have the choice of transferring to a school of their choice without penalty if they wish to continue their athletic endeavor.

Why is everyone ignoring this?

Why blame Bama? They play in a shite hole, get about 3k people per home game, City is already broke, how can you justify keeping the program open? UAB will never have the support close to what Troy has. They need to focus on Basketball

Bama BOT axed the Jimbo Fisher deal awhile back that could have helped UAB turn the corner.

Bama refused to play them in football.

This was a long time coming. i was stationed with Derek Slaughter, #33's dad, he said last year when Macgee resigned that this would be the last year.

I mean I feel bad for all the players, but I couldn't care less about them killing the program. But it is sad.
