To me he HAS to be the MVP as this point.
He's averaging just under 28(#1)-6-7(#1 for SG).
#1 win shares
#1 O win shares
#8 D win shares
#3 PER
61.5% TS%
2 time player of the month this year and its look good for Feb too. He's avergaing over 36 ppg.

TBird, What do you think about the Spurs this year? Seems like every gameday I get on Facebook and see anywhere from 2-4 players sitting out for various injuries.

First, let me preface this by saying that, as a fan, the redemption run last year after getting my heart broke in '13 satisfied me so much that honestly, I've never felt less urgency/trepidation heading into a stretch run. Just feels like Pop/Timmy and the Big3 have given the franchise and city so much that at this point, every win feels like gravy. Just trying to enjoy the last few games our core unit laces 'em up. It's been a run for the ages (even though I realize there could be more to come--I just don't assume it).
As far as what I think, I feel like SA hasn't played their best ball yet. Being banged up and having a schedule front-loaded with back to backs and contenders didn't help, either. Still, I'm starting to see glimpses on more and more nights of that team that ripped up MIA in the Finals. As Parker gets healthier (he hasn't been 100% most of this season) and the rest of the guys get up to snuff, I think we'll see them finish the season strong.
If they can be healthy at the start of the playoffs, I like our chances against anyone, regardless of our numerical seed. If we are down even one person, though, I think we're toast. The West is just too good for a walking wounded team to win it, IMO.
The guy that worries me more than anyone else, if I had to single someone out, would be the #LandWalrus, Boris Diaw. He's our swiss army knife in that he can play well with the small ball lineups as well as the "medium" and big ones. His shooting has been abysmal and he just hasn't looked sharp. If SA is to go deep in the postseason, he's gotta get back to being that deadly amoeba he's been the past couple of years.

Trust me, I definitely understand what you mean about last year's finals. The only time I've been more emotional about pro sports was when the Rangers won their first AL Pennant. (Had the cops called on me that night for my celebration)
I just hope they get healthy and make a run. Timmy and Pop deserve to go out on top.

Yeah my next door neighbors heard me screaming during the Finals last year and thought there was an intruder in my house or something Cried like a baby when they clinched game 6 against OKC and game 5 was the most satisfying 48 minutes I've ever had from a pro sporting standpoint.
I hope Pop and Tim go out with a back to back this year. Gonna take another Herculean run to do it, though.
My seatbelt's fastened

If Dirk keeps throwing down the oops, the Spurs won't win another championship.

That is where I am with the Saints.
