Still think Mullen is leaving State?
Miss State won't be able to match the offers that Mullen will recieve from the Florida's/Michigan's of the world......

Sorry, but it's true......

You don't think MSU could pay Mullen a $750,000 raise? With all the money they're raking in now? Seriously?

agreed, but it's the #1 thing people bring up when referencing Starkville. and all it does is show that they have never been or haven't been in 15-20 years.

hell, even since I graduated in 07 it's almost completely different.

Florida's stadium offers far less amenities than DWS, just has more seats. Their fanbase scares coaches. Florida sucked before Spurrier, and who cares about history when you are #1.

Yeah, I'm sure that the head football coaches at both Auburn and MSU frequent those events.

Arguing about which town is more fun is generally going to be pointless, because the head coach isn't going to have the time nor the interest in going out on the town every week when he's going to have his evening interrupted by god knows how many people. As long as there's a decent golf course and a beach within a three hour drive, what more does the guy want?

nicer places to eat, and yeah, a golf course...solid points.

just saying starkville blows, people came back from the KSU game talking about having a great time etc, they even come back from t town with better things to say than starkville.

nicest thing I've ever heard is all the fat people make my girlfriend look good.

Now Michigan is a different story. There would be a helluva lot of fun things to do in Ann Arbor. Like this:

I wouldn't use rolled trees as a selling point for my school. Especially now that bama went in dry on those trees.

The point is that the head football coaches at MSU, Auburn, Alabama, etc...regardless of who occupies those positions...couldn't care less about the "fun things to do" that we fans do. First of all, he can't do them anyway because he (a) has no time, and (b) he can't do them without being accosted by the commoners. And second, we're talking about multimillionaires with families. They don't do the same things for fun that that twenty-something year old fans do for kicks on a road trip to a game. The whole "more fun place to live" is about the most pointless debate in a discussion about which school a guy would rather coach at.

Because he will have a better shot at consistency at UF. Their talent pool is a lot larger than what he's getting in Starkville.

When the Seal family died in a tragic yachting accident they left a trust to the MSU AD on the conditions to "match any offer levied on a successful coach up to and including live virgin sacrifices."

I've been to every SEC town. The only one that stood out to me as far nicer than the rest was Athens, GA, and i really liked the layout of Auburn it felt unique. The rest are your typical strip mall fast food towns with nothing yo do but get hammered and watch football. So you guys tryin to hold your college towns over the heads of the rest.....stfu, your town blows infinite bags of dicks.
