Meh, MSU fans bitched and moaned about Mullen the last couple years. Now he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Once this senior heavy team leaves, and MSU falls back towards the bottom, Mullen will be enemy #1.
Expectations will now be high in Starkville, a place sustained success just won't happen. If Mullen is smart, he'd leave after the season.

Alabama fans said the same thing when Saban was allegedly "going" to Texas and you people still gave us a hard time. So with that said, he's totally leaving Starkville.

You don't think his retired parents would rather retire to Florida than Mississippi?
You don't think Mullen could afford it when UF throws piles of money at him after not being able to come to an agreement with Chip Kelly?

no matter how much you might want to tell yourself that someone LIKES starkville, or that MSU is a fun place to be, it will never be reality. I'd get the frick outta there if they offered me even 10% more.

I've got a contrarian view from most fans. I don't think he's leaving, for multiple reasons. First, I don't think anyone will offer him $5M, and anything less than that MSU could match.

Starkville is about as fun as Auburn. Mullen stays and we will have a pretty good season next year. It's funny when other fans think they know more lol.

That's what Nick Saban's wife said about Baton Rouge.

We would match anything Florida offers.

Agree 100%. They're already paying him $3.25M compared to Muschamp only making $3M. Is Florida going to offer Mullen $5M? No. $4M or $4.5? MSU would match that. Every school is going to be swimming in cash with the SEC network.

Miss State won't be able to match the offers that Mullen will recieve from the Florida's/Michigan's of the world......
Sorry, but it's true......

Except stadium, fan base, history, it's not Starkville, etc.

It's sad how many people still take coaches' words as gold even though coaches don't ever come out and say they are leaving for a better job at the end of the year.

I'm not sure people rolling trees is the best way to convey what you are trying to say.

Yeah, I'm sure that the head football coaches at both Auburn and MSU frequent those events.
Arguing about which town is more fun is generally going to be pointless, because the head coach isn't going to have the time nor the interest in going out on the town every week when he's going to have his evening interrupted by god knows how many people. As long as there's a decent golf course and a beach within a three hour drive, what more does the guy want?
