We bailed out on OR like chickenshits (like aTm is doing now) and picked up ND

When do we play the Irish? '17 & '19? I sure do wish we would put the Ducks BACK on the home/home sched for 2018 & go out there in 2019.

They have a hole in their schedule. we could make the deal right now...

I understand why you want to see a good, tough game...but would we REALLY want to take on Notre Dame AND Oregon as well as a SEC schedule in 2019?

ETA: We also pick up Texas A&M in 2019.

I wish the sec b12 and acc/ND would come up with a way to schedule 2 OOC games for each school in the 3 conferences each year.

Games with the PAC12. Need to be played on neutral sites, it makes for a tough following week when you travel 3 time zones and 3000 miles.

I wouldn't mind some different OOC schools and wouldn't mind GT being dropped. After all, it is an easy W. The dirtiness of GT's players leave to much chance of injury. Don't get me wrong, I love beating the shite out of the stingerless bees just as much as the next person, but they aren't even a challenge.

I actually agree with this. I would rather see us play Clemson every year then Tech. One thing I'm interestd in seeing is who the schools that don't have an automatic rivalry from another conference schedule. Didn't the SEC write that into their bylaws this past summer? So far we have:

UGA-Tech
SC-Clemson
FL-Fl State
UK-Louiville

Tennesse has done a great job scheduling OOC, same with LSU and Bama

I liked the Vandy matchup with Wake Forest at the end of the past several years, but I'm not s sure if that is going to continue. I would love to see Mizzou play Kansas again.

Have you seen Oregon play before? I don't think we want any part of that lol.

Neither would I. Other high profile teams get a perception boost from playing teams outside their region and UGA could do that more often if we didn't play Tech every year. Even every three years would be a big improvement.

Tech is basically no better or worse than GA Southern. We should treat them as such. Once every 4 years, just to remind them who their daddy is.

This is what flat-bills, play-offs, the interstate highway system, etc is doing to our society.......

There are no roots anymore. No respect for heritage or tradition. I fully expect Georgia to start wearing oregon style uniforms soon thanks to you people. Pink helmet with a shiny mirrored G. This sucks.

So you are fine with their dirty pool? Sure, its a win but not a challenge. They are quickly becoming the Sisters of the Poor. Like I said, I like the idea of abusing them like a cheap prom date, but c'mon, there are better schools to play.

I'm with Jeff. GT is down yes...but I remember when we sucked and they whooped us pretty regularly...it goes in cycles...they are our in state rival and we should always play them...it's tradition.

Dropping GT from the schedule would go against everything that makes CFB bigger than the NFL....and so it will probably happen soon. Our having to play big 12 Mizzoo every year is a fricking joke and one I fully expect Mizzoo to stop within 10 years....even Tennessee and South Carolina are less important from a tradition standpoint than GT.

the dropping of the Oregon game was mutual since both expanded conferences had to hash out conference schedules. nobody chickened out.

You can't drop tech, they are our biggest rival.

The supposed playoff criteria really gives much credence to scheduling nothing but creampuffs OOC. The widely held opinion is no 2 loss team will make the playoffs - period.

What we need to do is require ELEVEN P5 games

we have 8 SEC games, a rivalry w GA Tech - we also have a bye week

play Charleston Southern - TWO bye weeks

then we get TWO decent other matchups

TN went to OR, so can we

Maybe do 2018 and 2020 so we don't have them w ND & aTm in the same year...

I wanna see OSU and MI and Penn St as well

If you did this, can you imagine the scramble that would be on to play Vandy, Colorado, Washington State, Illinois, Kansas etc? EVERYBODY would be trying to get them on their schedule!

Being in the SEC, we don't need to add any more difficult games other than maybe one. Usually GT (though not recently). Not because we are afraid of competition, but because of injury possibility. We need to stay as healthy as possible to compete at the highest level. I would not trade marginal schedule strength over this. And before you say it, yes there is a greater chance of injury against stronger teams. They are bigger, faster, the games are closer, and your starters play longer.

Treason! They're not good now, but anything can happen. Remember when they beat us 45 - 42? The hate was pure, and it was good. It made us feel alive and reminded us why they are evil.

Do you really want to give that up?
