I see a lot of people already complaining about the playoff system. I thought everyone preferred it. What happened?

Notre Dame has brand status and national appeal. they bring eyeballs from all over the country and advertisers love eyeballs. Alabama is the only SEC school near that kind of drawing power. Tennessee used to have that power when that had the fat guy. Tigers (Auburn and LSU) and Gators are probably the next step down. Georgia and Texas A&M are probably just below them. After that you get to teams that have a singular good year. Vanderbilt is probably the bottom.

This is also dumb. To be honest FSU is a good team, but at the same time they are getting not test from the ACC which is weak as hell.
Wisconsin was the 2012 Big ten Champion after Going 4-4 in the conference. There isn't anyone in the country who didn't know they weren't the best team in the Big Ten (lost to Penn St and Ohio St who were bowl ineligible)
Look at bowl records. only 2 conferences have a consistent bowl record above 500. the SEC and the Pac 12.
Why should we assume a team is the best because the won their conference?

8 team playoff system? yes please along with more playoff venues I just can't think any place better than Nola though

8 teams
The top 5 seeds would be the power five conference champions seeded by a BCS type formula. The next three would be wildcards from any conference.
The top 4 seeds would have first round home games, the final four would follow the same current format.
Based on how the season could finish out:
hypothetical of course
1. Mississippi State
2. Florida State
3. Oregon
4. Michigan State
5. Kansas State
6. Ole Miss
7. Alabama
8. Notre Dame
8 Notre Dame at 1 Mississippi State
7 Alabama at 2 Florida State
6 Ole Miss at 3 Oregon
5 Kansas State at 4 Michigan State

In about 10 years, CFB will have a 16 team playoff, and we'll be watching college football until March.

In about 10 years, the northern media types who want to transform college football to the NFL, will force an expanded playoff system on us. Then the college football season will be as boring and irrelevant as the NBA, college hoops and the NFL.
With an 8-team playoff the greatest college football moment of the last 20 years (Kick Six) is rendered completely meaningless.

- Keep BCS Formula
- 8 team playoff
- 5 conference champs + 3 other highest rated in BCS formula for At-Large's
- Have BCS rank the 8 teams 1-8
- First 4 games on January 1st on the top 4 teams campus
- Next 2 games on January 7th and rotate between BCS bowls
- Final game on January 14th also rotating among BCS bowls.
ETA:
(the 1st, 7th, and 14th dates could also switch to starting on the closest saturday to the New Year. Weekend games would help travel for fans)
