I would dread that happening, because I can easily see us not going.

Very real possibility.

And that scenario is a very real possibility. Which is why we need to win out.

Or...what if this happens? Ole Miss and Mississippis State go to the Egg Bowl undefeated and State beats Ole Miss. We lose to Auburn giving us two losses, then beat State in the SECCG. You would have Georgia the SEC Champs with two losses and Mississippi State AND Ole Miss with one loss apiece.

If this happens & FSU is 13-0, Oregon 12-1, Michigan St/Ohio St 12-1 & ND is 11-1...

I don't think a 11-2 UGA SEC champ or a 1 loss non-SECC team gets in... Miss or Miss St. at 12-1 (loss in SECCG) won't have the pull to go...JMO

ETA... Bama or Auburn at 11-1(no SECCG appearance) might get a shot with their pull...

How realistic is it that Mizz wins out and puts us in a situation of not being able to lose another conf game?

They won't win out. They're pretty horrible.

There is no telling what the committee will come up with. No matter what, they are going to have 3-5 teams to discuss for those last two spots. That is where politics will come into play.

Personally, if two teams have already played and one beat the other (MSU/Oregon) (Ole Miss/State)I don't think they should both move forward. One has already proven to be better. I think the committee will use this to narrow down the choices of the 1 loss teams.

I don't see or even think a 2 loss team should be in the mix.

The beauty of Saturday having played out the way it did is that Arkansas is now somebody else's liability, and the "The Hawgs are DUE!" narrative can frick up somebody else's season. If they get their collective shite together.

Can't say that I agree. To me there has never been 8 teams that we could argue as being the best team in the nation. The closest was 2011, I think, when it was Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma State? I mean, really, we can narrow it down closer than 8 teams. The problem is the way they are going to choose those teams. I agree with whoever said..."They should keep the BCS poll and take the top 4 teams in that." It takes a ll the garbage out about the conference champions should be in. No. They should not. The Big 10 champions should probably not be in it and I am thinking that possibly the Big 12 champion should not be in it. The best 4 teams should be in it regardless of what conference they are in.

meh..maybe a six team format where 4 teams play for the 3rd and 4th spots. but we will have a 8 team playoff one day because there's simply too much money to be made

UT, UK, Ark are the most likely losses.

UT still has no identity on offense.

UK is a toss up at this point

Ark, is worrisome for the fact, if they haven't broken through yet, how much pressure will be on their staff and players. Could choke. They should win they are the better team.

At this point I think we have a great shot at 11-1.

The only thing that worries me is Auburn, and the fact that UGA will have won the East before that game. Auburn could come in with just one loss and have every thing riding on the game or 2 losses and just trying to keep from becoming 3. I would prefer the second scenario I believe.

What's crazy is , at this point everyone is talking about theSECW having 4 of the top 5. However by the time thanksgiving weekend is here, it could be UGA the only 1 loss sec team and the hopes of the conference in the playoff squarely on the Dawgs.

This is not true. We may not even know after the Auburn game whether or not we've won the East.

No. Lose to UF or UK, beat AU, and we still have to wait and see how Mizzou finishes if they haven't lost already. Hell, we could lose 2 more SEC games and still make it to Atlanta.

Agred. I think we'll win both, and beat UF with extreme prejudice.
