How realistic is it that Mizz wins out and puts us in a situation of not being able to lose another conf game?

Definitely possible. I hope they keep a fire under our arse all season so we don't get complacent knowing we have the East on lock.
That whole "foot off the gas" thing should never happen again this season, whether in game or looking ahead on the schedule.

I think it's pretty unlikely. They lost to Indiana. UT, TAMU, and Ark could all beat them

I think they lose to Arky and split TAMU and UT (both are away).

They have 5 SEC games left. That's a lot of games for any team to win. I think it's safe to assume they win vs Vandy this weekend as a 21 point favorite. The rest of their games could be tossups or < 5 point spread. Winning 4 tossups ain't easy. I give them < 5% chance of winning out.

Thanks. I see at least two losses there.

What really is important is that if WE win out, what Mizzou does is irrelevant

2 of those games are after we play our last game (AU). Only way to know we clinch is to win out or go into AU without a another loss and they lose to KY or Vandy. Otherwise, we will be sitting and waiting and put them back in control.

I agree. It is VERY possible they win out. It is just as likely they lose 4 more. I think them losing at LEAAST two more is reasonable to assume.

As for the foot off the gas is concerned....if we win out it doesn't matter. IF it comes down to the committee choosing a two loss team, then ylou want massive wins to set your team apart.

AND, if we want to go to the playoffs, we really need to win out, anyway.

I dunno, if we win the SECCG with 2 losses, I still think we're in. Heads would roll for sure

The "Committee" is praying a 2 loss SEC team doesn't win the SEC.

Win out definitely solves our issues. It is unique that Mizz plays one game the same day as our last (AU) and two more after.

First things first. Beat da gator.

This poses a really interesting question. Imagine we lose one more SEC game along the way but win the SECCG with 2 losses over the undefeated or 1 loss west champion. I really believe we would still make the 4 team playoffs since they are really stressing conference winners. The meltdown on tRant that would occur if that happened would be monumental.

it's no easy task for us to win the remaining 3 conference games, I can't imagine Mizzou doing it..what would be embarrassing is to have an SEC east champ with a home loss to Indy-fricking-anna..

Doubtful.

Arkansas and Texas A&M should be able to beat them. Depends on if either team has any fight left in them by the time they get to Mizzou.

I'd say not very likely. They have real issues and some tough, albeit not brutal, games left. Much prefer WE win out so it don't matter!

Or...what if this happens? Ole Miss and Mississippis State go to the Egg Bowl undefeated and State beats Ole Miss. We lose to Auburn giving us two losses, then beat State in the SECCG. You would have Georgia the SEC Champs with two losses and Mississippi State AND Ole Miss with one loss apiece.

I would dread that happening, because I can easily see us not going.
