With the way we've played lately, it's easy to get swept away. And I'm already guilty of maybe getting a little too big headed about things. But I still remember 2011, a season where we lost our first 2 to good teams, then won 10 straight and thought we were legit. The only problem was we didn't really play any GOOD teams during those 10 straight wins. I absolutely love the way we've played the last 3 or 4 weeks, but again we really haven't played a GOOD team in the bunch. So while that is in the back of my mind, something just kinda feels different.

It looks like we're really finding a rhythm on defense. Yes we still make mistakes, which is expected. But for the most part it looks like we know what we're doing. RBs are phenomenal, obviously. The OL has been a huge surprise. QB is unspectacular, but efficient. WRs are doing what they have to. We should whoop florida, and win a probably closer than it should road game at UK, but I don't really think we'll KNOW what we have until Auburn.

I'm just trying to keep my expectations in check these next few weeks instead of making plans for Dallas just yet. So what about yall? Are you chugging the kool-aid, still not sure, take it one game at a time..etc.

UGA is mostly in line with my preseason expectations. The defense is actually doing a good bit better than I expected. Not quite as explosive in the PA passing game as I thought, but we made positive progress in that regard against Arky.

I think UGA can beat any team in the country, but I'm not booking a hotel in Dallas just yet by any means.

I'm drinking the koolaid. We can control the LOS on offense and defense, have talented skill position players, and a QB who has proven he can move the ball and make very few mistakes. That is a recipe for championship level football. I realize Arkansas and Mizzou aren't worldbeaters but I can't remember seeing a UGA team go on the road and lay a beat down quite like they have the past 2 weeks.

Not saying we will make the 4 team playoff (or even the SECCG), but if the team keeps playing the way they have and we can get Gurley back I think we have a good shot at both.

I think we're all but in the SECCG. It's essentially a one game season for us in that regard, against auburn. Even if we do lose to auburn, I think missouri will lose again.

We will have our hands full in the SECCG though.

This team reminds me more and more of the 2007 team every game. The only difference is we aren't behind like we were then. We had lost two games we shouldn't have. This year we have only lost one we shouldn't have and we control our own destiny and not needing another team to lose. We are in a lot better situation this year than in 2007 when the team started to gel on both sides of the ball.
So yes I'm double fisting the koolaid!

I think we can win the East for sure...and with Mason at qb and the sure amount of crappy luck in the secondary...not to mention the whole Gurley fiasco and crazy string of injuries at a position we thought weveryone were deepest at and it's a good year for UGA. I honestly can't seeven us beating the West champ....they will be much more battle tested than Uga against crazy good competition. Can we beat them...well anything possible but a nice win against AU and a appearance in the sec title game is good enough for me

Always remember: You are never as good as you think you are after a win, and you are never as bad as you think you are after a loss.

Not so sure I agree with that.

They draw aTm & Arky - 2 very winnable games.

I see that comparison a lot, but I don't really agree.

07 had a pretty good defense, probably comparable to this year's, but the explosive potential of the offense was far more than we have now. Yes Gurley would be the best player on either team, but we had a QB then that is miles ahead of now, a top 5 national RB, a comparable OL, and a good receiver core.

That team also started beating the hell out of good teams. We controlled the tebow/meyer-led UF game the whole way, and dominated a good auburn team.

Like I said before I'll wait til auburn to make up my mind. If we look overmatched I'll be pretty disappointed and think we're more like 2011. If we win, I'll fully in.

they're absolutely winnable, but they're just as losable. Arkansas isn't NEARLY as bad as we made them look, and aTm is in a funk but they still looked mighty good the first half of the season.

I THINK Mizzou will lose again. In fact, they could lose four games. They could also win out. They hav a very manageable schedule. We have to consider that we caught them high as a kite after Gurley was suspended and they might be MUCH better than we made them look. They DID beat Florida like a red headed step child (My apologies if anyone in here is a red headed step child), so we have to consider that they are capable of winning out. Their schedule is easier than ours from here on out.

Yall know my answer. I keep waiting for the dam to break

These past two games have been some of the most surprising, fun games I have watched Georgia play but I am still not getting swept away. I keep waiting for the death blow. After being with the majority of outsiders who thought UGA would lose to Mizzou and Arkansas I am now in the minority who worries UF wins.

I actually feel pretty good about the rest of the regular season, even Auburn. I do feel Auburn is the better team, but the atmosphere in Athens will give us a huge advantage. November 15th will be electric and some major juice will be flowing, hopefully at night. Memories of 2007 vs Auburn are coming back to me. If we can recreate that, then we punch AU in the throat and never give them a chance to get back up. We may not be the better team going in, but we are the better team on the field on that day.

A few weeks ago, I had UK circled on the calendar. Our road wins @ Mizzou and Ark along with UK's huge loss to a weak LSU has caused me to start erasing that circle.

Now...assuming we take care of business the regular season, I have major concerns about the SECCG. Our team is unfortunately notorious for falling short on that stage. The team's willingness to fight, and fight hard, on the road the last 2 weeks gives me hope. That, along with the combination of an improving secondary, improving QB, solid "backup" RB, and the potential return of TG improves our odds...however...as I said, UGA is notorious for entering the spotlight with high hopes and never showing up - so THAT is what I'm reminding myself to keep expectations in check.

only natural, I think we're conditioned to it as georgia fans.

on paper we should win by 40. But it's jacksonville, so who knows. I definitely don't think we'll lose...but we were up 3 touchdowns last year and had to hang on. Fortunately, it looks like we're as good or maybe better and they look as bad or worse.

Well, as of now, I would Chubb up against any RB from that team. The OL is a wash. The receivers now are comparable at worst than that group. Aren't we averaging more points now than back then?

I'm not getting my hopes up.

I am not sold on our DB's although they seem to be doing better. I think we still have issues covering Tight Ends and Allen picked on Langely alot last week and he was called for PI and holding over and over which is frustrating. The front 4 after the South Carolina game have been generating pressure which is nice to see but it still seems like we have alot to improve on.

The offense, is completely dependent upon running the football. This strategy works great until you get behind unless you have someone explosive like Gurley. I think with Gurley this team has a chance to win out but without him if we get behind I can't see us mounting a come back with Mason forced to throw in predictable passing situations.

That being said, I still think we go to Auburn with only 1 loss and its going to be a hell of a game.

It looks like UF is going to start Treon Harris. That makes them more dangerous in that he has given them a spark at times, but they still will really struggle in the passing game.

Every team who's run the ball right at UF (Bama and LSU) has been able to move the ball pretty well. Their strength is in the secondary (Hargreaves), but they're vulnerable between the hashes.

It does, but somehow this team "feels" different than the previous ones.

Agreed.

Been a while since I've felt that way, so I'm not sure if I even know what to look for.
