A&m has regressed each year in Sumlin's three year tenure. Players aren't developing. The team has absolutely no heart.

Remember, Sherman was fired in 4 years.

Not yet. Fans will expect improvement next year, though. Yesterday was disgraceful.

Nah. He just signed that new extension and has been successful his first 2 years. He gets a free pass this year. Next year and another 6-6 or 7-5 year and his seat will get warm

Eta what's the buyout on his new deal Aggs?

No, not at all. Serious.

When he signs his first class that is not the best in Texas, then he is on the hot seat.

Successful is going 9-4 with 3 first round picks and one of the greatest QBs of all time?

The full amount of money of the contract in a lump sum. So he isn't going anywhere until after the 2016 season at least.

So all you care about is winning recruiting battles in Texas. I now see why the sips make fun of Aggies.

Sumlin is profiting from a perfect storm of ridiculously low expectations combined with ineptitude at Texas.

For now yes. Our team needs talent, bad. Especially in a few places on the defense and on the lines.

I know this is a strange concept for Auburn, Bama and LSU fans that are used to having top 10 classes every year, but this is a new thing to us. Prior to Sumlin we had one top 10 class in the rival's era.

That is why we don't melt to the whole "couldn't win anything with the best QB ever" bit. Because that QB was surrounded with mediocre talent.

Now if we sign one or two more top ten classes and THEN we still suck then something is wrong. But then we can let Sumlin go to the NFL and let a better coach actually coach the loaded roster he built.

Absolutely. He bought himself a lot of good will from the last two years as well as a pretty hefty buyout. Better question would be "is A&M a quality win?"

Another of the innumerable traditions at Texas A&M is not criticizing the players. They're just college kids, after all. And so the fact that this year's team looks like a bunch of scared, spoiled sorority sisters has to be someone else's fault. Who's if not Sumlin's?

We don't need more talent. We need toughness. We need Bear Bryant, Sgt. Carter, General Patton. Someone high up on Sumlin's staff should've been toughening the boys up. Since the first plays of the Arkansas game they've seemed about as tough as my 43 year-old butt might be were I out there running into grunts. Talent might go far in the PAC, WAC, or Conference USA; it looks like someone forgot to remind someone what conference we're in. The SEC has caught up with what advantages our "new" offense granted. It's all down to rough, tough, real stuff, again. And we ain't got it.

We need to be driving down some dirt roads looking for some hungry kids. I'm pretty disillusioned with all this "talent".

This was a really fun thread on the scoreboard yesterday, I have high expectations for its Rant version.

Picked to finish 5th in the west, likely going to finish 5th in the west. Our kids started believing they were better than they were and have had a hard fall back to reality after facing 3 top 10 teams.
