Mississippi State is Number 1, Ole Miss not far behind, Auburn and Bama already with a loss, the east is still up for grabs, and Kentucky is 5-1. Those are just some of the few shocks in the SEC this year. The biggest factor that sets the SEC apart from other conferences is that ANYBODY CAN BEAT ANYONE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE. Each team fights valiantly every week, and with as much talent as there is, it shouldn't be a surprise that every team is getting beat around. Going undefeated in the SEC arguably holds more prestige than winning any awards or even the National Championship. That, my friends, is why the SEC IS the toughest conference of football.

Not really. Right now, Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida are the only teams in contention mathematically, and that's all it is. Georgia prolly gonna win the east.

You're right. State making a run at the natty is the equivalent of Iowa State or Indiana.

Statistically Georgia has a 30 % or better chance than any other east team of winning east i think i read on sbnation football study hall.
And though the west is not locked up state and ole miss obviously have the inside track... While ole miss is favored by 70% in all future games and with the west being superior to the east ( popular consensus ).. The rebels are favored to play and beat Georgia in sec CG.

If state were to win the Egg Bowl.. They would be favored to win over Georgia in sec CG as well..

5 to 6 games left for every team...changes will occur as it does every year. I agree the SEC is the best, but no one will deny this that is has any knowledge of college football.

I think what holds the ACC back is the lack of a few big name teams. Everyone beats everyone. I remember the wheel of fortune thing they used to due for one of the divisions.

Kind of interesting that you mentioned Alabama and Auburn have 1 loss but forgot to mention LSU already has 2. Of course, maybe your omission is a sign you recognize that LSU is no longer important

The decline of Miami and a lesser extent, VaTech has hurt the ACC in having big names in the top 10. Louisville, UNC, GaTech et al need to make the jump.

SEC has a lot of advantages:
1. Large southern, state universities;
2. Rabid interest in college football;
3. This demand means most SEC teams play in mega stadiums.
4. This leads to more $
5. This leads to hiring better head coaches and assistant coaches.
6. Southern State populations are increasing, helping with TV viewership.
7. Talent, talent, talent in the SEC states.

FIFY. Will LSU be the best team ever to rank last in the division? I think so. SEC! SEC! SEC!
