Anyone else notice the lack of audibles at the LOS?

Pretty sure I only saw the offense look over to sidelines one time during the game Sat. (Mason may have made more audibles, but he and the offense didn't look to the sidelines to get the call.)
Imo, it hurt us a couple of times on third down when we tried to hurry up and get to the line to run a play instead of looking at the defense and adjusting. Just some food for thought, we obviously didnt need audibles in the 4th.

i'm relaxed duder...just tossing out a discussion point. thought it was interesting since we had so many of those "look at the sideline" audibles last year.

I mentioned this during the game....however, everything worked, so no real need to audible and give something away for USCe to study

I'm with you on this one. I think we're still a bit high from the win on Saturday, but I agree that we need to think about improving all areas of our game. I'm glad we have such a stout running game (at least it appears that way right now) but we can't afford to be one-dimensional. An injury to Gurley will severely hinder our ability to dominate on the ground, and we need Mason and our WR corps to step up, even if they are only needed sparingly.

I mean I'm not trying to bitch, like I said I just thought it was interesting. Like IT said, we didnt really need them for most of the game and I guess the theory of not showing too much of hand could be plausible.
I do hope in the upcoming games we take our time on third and shorts more so than we did in the first half against CU. Whether that be audibles or just huddling and getting a good play call in.

Offense certainly didn't look very sharp in the first half (14 points).
We didn't look like a well oiled machine on offense, but we were talented enough to run by a Clemson defense.
The good news is that the chemistry of the offense should improve with each game played, and hopefully we'll see fewer and fewer busted plays and mental mistakes.

quote:Yeah, I was watching the replay of the game this morning on TV and noticed Michel had a couple of goofs that potentially cost us yards. It was hist first game so he should get better, but that's the kind of stuff that can and should improve. Same can be said (and has been) about some of our defensive crew who didn't turn around to locate the ball.

It was the first game of the season and the team certainly came together on both sides of the ball as the game progressed. I'm excited to see what will happen with the rest of the season

Mason audibled on a second down I believe and Michel went the wrong way.

Yea, saw that and Mason had to eat the ball.

The first half offense was developing chemistry until Bobo and co. were trying to force Marshall into the offense.
Just wait until Chubb and Michel get more responsibility and JSW and MM get back healthy.

I hated it last year when we constantly got set and then all stood up and looked at the sideline. IMO it showed no respect for Murray to read and audible himself. Plus if we all look, don't you think the defense is building confidence and loving the disruption in tempo?

Seemed to work pretty well as we had the highest yards/game of offense in school history...

Murray made plenty of checks at the line last season. And why would you complain about our offense last season? Seems a tad petty.

Read the OP, the topic was not looking to the sideline. I am just comparing to last year. And I was not complaining about production, just the tempo.
As for petty...well
