These are players I didn't hear much about during camp. Some of them will be needed for depth. Some seem to be placeholders. Any info on these guys.

Shaun McGee - I had high hopes for his athleticism. If he's buried in the OLB chart we could use some help in the middle.

John Atkins - I assume he'll play because we need all our big bodies on the DL, but haven't heard much about his progress.

Toby Johnson - tons of press last summer, not much this summer.

Josh Dawson - lost in the mix?

Johny O'Neal - looked like a hard nosed run stuffer in HS. Now he's off the radar and the depth chart.

Kennar Johnson - I honestly thought he was quick enough to play corner for us when I looked at video. Since he stepped on campus, I've never seen any indication that he'll play a down for UGA.

Jordan Davis - I've heard Blazevich mentioned more.

Reggie Wilkerson - I did see that he was moved to safety. Not sure why but it doesn't seem a good fit.

Zach Debell - clearly UGA doesn't "process" players like a lot of our rivals, because otherwise Zach would be gone.

Xavier Ward - See Zach Debell.

Hunter Long - I say move him to Defensive tackle. At least he could play scout team and if we have a n injury or two we might need the depth.

Josh Cardiello- Don't see him on the OL depth chart? Passed already?

Sounds like you need to have a sit down with the coaching staff and put a fire under their asses.

All of those mentioned down to Reggie Wilkerson will provide depth at their position and/or play special teams.

From Zach DeBell on down are lifers on the bench. Only if there is a large rash of injuries on the OL will any see meaningful minutes.

We can't exactly afford to process linemen. Need all the depth we can get at that position.

You shut your fricking mouth. He hasn't read about them in the news paper. That means they suck. We need arrange a meeting with him and the coaching staff so he can get them to shite or get off the pot with these scrubs...

He could very well be a badass when all is said and done. It's his second year in the program and he's in a position group with a lot of seniority.

Who says he's not?

He was a freshman last year playing a position with 2 upperclassmen starters that both finished in the top 3 in the SEC in tackles. In 2015 him and Reggie should form a solid ILB crew.

I suppose I should have avoided the commentary and just listed the names. I was wondering whether there was any information on these players progress that I haven't seen. Everything about changing player positions or processing players, was really just meaningless small talk. People do it, I'm guilty. Actually, I always hold out hope that our players can contribute, especially upperclassmen who haven't had a chance.

As far as "meeting with the coaching staff", it's a useless form of message board criticism. I have no desire to make their decisions, but that doesn't prevent me from asking questions about players' performance, status, etc. I might even on occasion criticize a coach or player, not because I'm capable of doing better but because I disagree nonetheless.

The guys on your list that aren't in a very promising spot are K. Johnson, O'Neal, Ward, Debell, and Long. Card yellow is behind a bit but it seems salvageable. The others are doing fine as far as I can tell.

Do you have any other detail on O'Neal? Attitude? Talent? I'm surprised by that development.

Not a good scheme fit. Not very fast and a bit stiff. He's good as a downhill thumper but that isn't what UGA's looking for with Pruitt.

He moved to OLB in the spring but isn't really a fit there either imo. Not long enough

Wilkerson will be fine. Moved from Corner to Safety and just recovered from major knee surgery. I expect he and Terry to get more PT as the season progresses and they get more comfortable with their new roles. A lot of talk about Roundtree, McFadden, and McGraw if we can bring in a couple of them, but I think Terry and Wilkerson, along with Sanders, are the future at Safety.

O'Neill has been working at OLB a lot lately. We have a damn good corps right now, so not many new faces will be seen in (Carter and Carter, that's about it).

Jordan Davis is sitting right behind Rome and Hicks at TE. He'll get his snaps, but Jeb has had such a good camp that he might cut into Davis' PT a bit.

Atkins and Johnson have been doing well, but not everyone can be all-stars at camp. They'll each play.

Xzavier Ward has the talent to be a NFL OT but he has never been able to stay healthy. It's a mental thing with him now, imo.

Long has actually had a very good summer and is firmly in the #2 spot behind Andrews at Center. There's a lot of talk that he might be the guy to take over for Andrews next year.

Whenever you have 85 scholarships and only 22 starting positions, there are going to be guys who get buried. nature of the beast.

What's the latest on Tramel Terry? Still buried on the depth chart at safety?

Behind in the safety depth chart. Still adjusting to defense, learning the playbook, and trying to overcome the mental hurdle of really trusting his knee. That's the biggest thing imo
