Hutson Mason said that he has been medically disqualified due to concussions.

Hope he is able to lead a healthy, successful life from here on out

Detric Bing-Dukes and Taylor Maxey are your full time FBs now that Quayvon is at H-back.

Damn that socks. Does anyone have the link when Hicks said something along the lines of him and Hall may have brain damage when they're 40 but they are busting heads and enjoying it now?

Hall is making the right long term choice. Good luck to him the rest of his career.

Sad...but with all the prolong problems they are seeing now as being associated with Concussions...its the right move. He was a DGD. Time for someone to step up.

Better to nip potential problems in the bud. Hall is a DGD, and I wish him the best.

Hate it for Hall. He is a DGD! Maybe they should try Douglas at FB?

Yes best to move on rather than risk that type of latent injury and go Jr Seau down the road.

Question if he gets a medical hardship does that scholarship number go back into circulation for next year?

I'm surprised we actually don't see this more often with fullbacks and linebackers.

I may be wrong, but I think Richt will honor the scholarship, but others will know more.

No it doesn't, I don't believe. Trinton Sturdivant and Deandre Johnson have both gotten by on medical waivers and I don't think they count against us.

Medical Hardship if signed off by doctors allows you to stay on scholarship through when your tenure would have ended based on football.

The team will recover that scholarship and will still be at 85

I remember that quote too.

As an aside, there's a way to hit and get hit, partially instinctually and partially coached, so you dont get hurt as bad. Like Skateboarders and bmx guys know how to fall. There's always bad luck too, but this seems to have been an ongoing thing with him. Chis Mayes might be next.

Quotes from Taylor Maxey, the walk-on who is getting looks to step in at FB.

quote:

Listed at 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds, the senior Maxey has yet to take an official game snap in a Bulldog uniform since serving as a member of the scout team since his arrival in 2011.

"I'm an old-fashioned fullback - a turf monster," Maxey said. "I'm low to the ground, I got big with hat-speed and I come with everything I've got every play. I've lost some brain cells, but if you don't like contact and hitting people, you're not going to be a very good fullback."

From a long line of Bulldog supporters, Maxey would be watching games from the stands if he wasn't suiting up.

"My parents, grandparents, uncles … it's always been Georgia," he said. "My family has had tickets for 40 years. I haven't missed a home game since I was five years old. It's surreal to be out there."

Well at least it looks like his head is in the right spot.

He's good then. As long as it's not one of the bullshite majors most of them take. I wish him well.
