I have had a lot of difficulties with COX and do not want to give them more of my money to get the shitty sports package required to get tSECN.

Anyone have any idea if I will be able to stream tSECN games on ESPN3 if I have COX?

ESPN3 is pretty Nazi about the blackout issue, so I would say you have a hard time if the game you want to stream is in your region.

If your provider carries the SECN, then yes. If not, no.

If you are a subscriber to the required Cox sports package and are able to login to ESPN3 through your Cox provider ... then yes, you'll be able to stream WatchESPN and the SEC Network wherever and whenever you please because, as I understand it, they will be archiving shows, games, etc., ala YouTube style.

Of course it is true or I would not have posted it.

As it was explained to me, the existing SEC Digital Network already offered downloads of archived games for a fee at one time. I was never aware of it but I was assured that they were there until it was deemed more profitable to do the archive deal with YouTube.

With the advent of the SEC Network one of the first things they decided to do sometime in February a year and a half ago, was to archive all inventory for download after the fact. They planto build a library over the coming years that will hold enormous value as time passes and will become a selling-point of the network in its own right ... for future subscribers.

Imagine the value of a library of past games ten, twenty, thirty years from now. They'll be able to offer it on an individual event basis, per game, or in seasonal gift packages. You'll be able to stream the games individually for free through the network, or order gifts, on whatever media is appropriate in the future, that comes boxed with additional material such as special magazines or foldouts, photos, etc.

Downloaded several games from the 2010 year. High definition, great quality and at the time $3.99. They've went up in price but not that big of a deal. haven't checked in the last 2-3 years , assuming they still offer downloads.

I'm going to look at XBMC and talk to a few folks. Have a feeling that I will be able to watch the games online.

What do you think the chances are of finding SEC?

Well there are some good sports streams on there already under mashup. As for someone actually making a SEC add on, idk.

I don't have cable but I do have 3-4 peoples log ins from work, so I am sure I'll be able to get it somehow.

You can use Hotspot Shield to get around ESPN3's blackouts for free. I used it all last season, just kept my PC hooked to my TV...

There will guaranteed be pirate streams of the SEC Network. It is also guaranteed the quality will be lower than ESPN3.

A credible source. Oh .... and your Momma. Well, actually, she mumbled it but I'm pretty sure that's what she was trying to say with her mouth full.

I wish I had known those downloads were available at the time. It would have saved me a ton of space on my DVRs. $3.99 for HD downloads would have been a steal. Did they fit one game per DVRD?

As far as pirating the SEC Network games, I wish our fans wouldn't do it. Go with a provider that offers the SECN and support the network and the league.
