Yep he is marrying one of Bowden's daughters. Some of the media folks were tweeting about Barrett stepping down a few days ago and one of them made mention that he was fixin to marry Bowden's daughter.

Can he step down from football and basketball next?

Or I'll settle and let him keep baseball, but drop the other two.

I'm on board with all this. Also, who's going to tell me to go see Pat and Janie at the Catfish Hole now?

His basketball pbp infuriates me. I don't mind him as much on football and his baseball isn't bad at all.

I love the guy's voice. For a college broadcaster I always thought he was great at baseball.

I always thought his best pbp was in baseball as well. Maybe part of it was I was real used to Paul Eells in football and Mike Nail in basketball.

He easily falls behind 30 seconds during the pbp in basketball, you hear the crowd roar after a score, while he is talking about passes on the perimeter, the the crowd roars again after a score while he is discussing who is guarding the ball on the other end.

I really like the job Blake Eddins does during the ARSN broadcasts. There is enough wit to go along with explaining what teams are doing (without inputting personal preferences and opinions on what they should be doing) to be entertaining.

I'm not a fan of the former coaches who drone on and on every game about what teams are doing wrong, wrong because it isn't how they coached their teams to play. My fav was one of the ESPN former coaches talking about how badly designed the "set" was a team was running because of how repetitive it was, that team was running the flex, not knowing or being able to identify this is probably why he is a former coach and not coaching...

I'm also not a fan of Keith Jackson's commentary work. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if he was replaced with a guy like Matt Jones or Tony Bua.

I wouldn't mind him replacing Rick, honestly.

He is a little homerish, but that is perfectly acceptable for a team's color analyst. He isn't as bad as Rick explaining how the team was down 8 with 30 seconds to go, but still had a chance of winning if they hit a three, stole the ball hit another three, then stole the ball to score to tie or take the lead like he did during the Pel years, and he was excitedly explaining that shite.
