Record, statistics, results, whatever it may be, what are your honest expectations of the team this season?

It's the fact that we lose at the most unexpected times during the season.

Who would have thought we would have lost to Boise state as bad as we did and then start off 0-2 in 2011.

Who would have thought we would lose to South Carolina so badly after staring 5-0 in 2012.

Who would have thought we would have lost to a seemingly untested Mizzou and Vandy during the middle off the season last year even with our injuries...honestly.

This is the thing that has to change this year. We can't have a really stupid loss this year. We have to finally take the bull by the horns and just have that badass mentality and kick some arse.

Have no idea on wins. All depends on Defense to me. I think Mason and O will be ok... As far as stats are concerned

Mason:3000+ yrds, 28 TD's, 10 ints
Gurley: 1700 yrds, 16 rush Td's, 6 recieving

I don't think we have one receiver get 1000 yards but I think we will has multiple get 600+, I think Floyd leads the SEC in sacks and Lo Carter makes huge impression.

Thus lies the problem. Unfortunately I don't think CMR can accomplish the second.....and will always be susceptible to the former.

I would says the same thing about wins, it's just so unpredictable.

I like your stats on Mason a lot.

You have Gurley going off yardage-wise which I obviously like.
but I believe it can absolutely happen without doubt with his superior talent.

And you are right, we distribute the ball too evenly amongst our receivers to seemingly ever have a thousand yard receiver.

And Floyd will have a monstrous season this year without doubt, he's just too talented. While I've heard Carter has hit the ground running.

I think Lorenzo Carter will have a season like Aldon Smith did his rookie year in the NFL. Not as many many sacks (13.5) but the same effect in being a situational pass rusher who is relentless at getting after the quarterback and makes the same kind of impact taking advantage all of his opportunities.

You may be right but I believe that Pruitt can light the necessary fire under the defense's arse to match the productivity of the offense.

I think 10-2 is reasonable. There are a few unknowns at this point.

1. Our secondary is depleted, so who will step up? Hopefully, the front 7 will alleviate the need for the secondary to be great. My football coach always told me, a great pass rush makes a great cover corner. Also, who plays safety?

2. Mason is coming in as the guy, so I’m curious to see how he handles it. Will we see Joe Cox or DJ Shockley?

3. WIll there be continuity on the Oline or will we continue with the revolving door game-by-game? Hell, even series-by-series, Friend is making changes. He needs to pick 5 guys and have confidence they can get the job done.

It’s hard to quantitfy all 3 concerns. However, if by the end of the season 2 of 3 are no longer a question mark, I really like this teams chances.

There are just way too many issues/concerns for me to expect anything more than an 8-4/9-3 regular season. Mason throwing for 3,000/28TD's? I just don't see that. Gurley running for 1700? Not under CMR/Bobo. Plus, Marshall, and the 2 5 star RB's coming in will deter TG getting enough carries for 1700. Then, there's the swiss cheese defensive backfield, and special teams play to worry about. Geez...but, I do like the Pruitt hire. My guess is that it will take him more than this season to straighten out all the crap Grantham, and his coaches left behind.

Agreed 11-1 would be better but that would be an unreasonable expectation.

I like what CP's doing and saying building a secondary who will not be beaten by missed assignments and lack of discipline. I would hope starters aren't mentioned up until game time like Alabama does no sense in giving the enemy information.

One thing not mentioned was tackling issues in the past it was bad, bad, bad, last year over all and that shite hopefully will get fixed because it cost UGA games.

Offense hey that shite works like a machine and hopefully the special teams come in strong.

New S&C coach hopefully a better program with better dietary needs finally taken seriously and as a science not witchcraft.

10-2 not unreasonable we could surely be tested by SC & UF and UT hates losing to UGA.

I just want to see a Dawg team in September who is almost as good as they would be by the end of October.

Well I agree with this completely!

When it comes to the defense though, I think we are going to have a nasty front seven that will be able to put alot of pressure on the QBs. I feel like we are going to see alot more SACs out of Floyd, Jenkins, our resident Pastor of Disaster and LO C. Oh and BTW he is going to make more than an impression. He's going to shake things up in a good way. I think we could realistically expect to see 7-10 sacs a piece from these guys.

And this is why CJP will be able to keep his rep untarnished. Our front seven is going to take the pressure off the secondary and give them time to gel. So hopefully by the middle of our season these guys are hitting on all cylinders. Also keep in mind no team we meet has a QB with a ton of experience with the exeption of Auburn. This is good for our defense.

I expect to see our secondary surprise us with turnovers due to the former and because I feel like there are going to be some gems begin to shine that we did not see last season. Such as JJ Greene, Reggie Wilkerson, and Damien Swann. These guys are going to make at least 3 or 4 INT a piece this year.

I know I know your thinking HEY KOOL-AID!

If we can keep our guys healthy on both sides especially the offense we may be lined up to do great things this season. Our schedule lines up pretty good and I think our guys knew they were better than the record shows from last year. We just had alot of injuries. They are going to want to come out and show the nation this year.

9-3 meaningless florida bowl where we might lose..I say this only because recent history shows this..I will say, however, that I think the team will improve play as the season goes on with the defense showing improvement and the QBs get settled in...if we suffer injuries to the skill positions again this season might go into the tank.

I think UGA fans need to be patient on the defense. It's a work in progress. Those who set unrealistic expectations get let down the most. I look for the defense to improve slightly in all categories in year one. It's going to take 2-3 years before CP can get his players to really produce what is expected. The defense being disciplined and being in the right position to make plays will improve a 8-5 team to a 9 win team, or 10 at best.
