So what's your view when it comes specifically to college football uniforms and equipment?
I know it's no secret that I'm considered a traditionalist (among other ugly things) by some and rightfully so. I would however like to see some of the old school colors and even the sleeve stripes make a comeback for homecoming.
I also think that in this sport monkeying around with color schemes has caused a divisive response among the many fans, boosters and us side walk folk. I doubt CMR would have ever opened the box of change if he had a "do over." Who knows maybe he will address it one day in his memoirs.
'Some teams like Oregon have made a living with change of appearance and then you have teams like Alabama & Penn State where you don't even mention it without fear of excommunication of ones soul. I think the black jerseys look sharp but, the stigma they left from the last time they were worn outlived the two victories prior IMO.
Before I depart from the pulpit let me say in closing:
I know my "side walk "WGC-Brave opinion" is not shared by a select few lofty Lords of UGA academia and I'm fine with it all in the knowing that the world needs commoners also.
Bonus quote for the day from Lewis Grizzard:

Black jerseys are clean and look really good. Nothing "Oregon" about them. They're one of our two primary colors and we should wear them on special occasions, like senior night.

I wish we'd wear them against Clemson this year.

This is not directed at you, DCBL, but I addressed this to your comment because you were kind enough to post a chart of the history of Georgia team wear. (For lack of a better term)
I personally like the black jersys. I think of myself as a traditionalist, too, but feel there is room for some change. The black jersey keeps the basic layout of the jersey but changing the color. A color that is a basic color of the school.
I wish we would wear them more often, not because I think they give us an advantage, but just because they look good to me.
My favorite look is of the 1980 look.
Lest we pat ourselves on the back, none of us are true traditionalists. I mean, if we were, we would want to go back to the 1894 look, and that just isn't....good. It comes down to what we personally feel is the best look.
I am one that like the Penn State/Alabama minimalist look, though. I have no problem with the black jersey, though.
For the record, I HATED to modern look we wore a few years ago for the opening game. the Nike Pro Combat, look. (Boise, maybe?) HORRID!

The Boise uniforms were just too...red. Had they not tried to match red pants with mostly red jerseys, it wouldn't have been so bad.

For me it was just too...well...it looked like they were just trying to be TOO modern looking? I hated the helmets, mainly. As I said...I kind of consider myself a traditionalist...except I really do like the black jerseys. Most on here want to wear them for maybe one game every couple of years. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to divide them half/half with the red jerseys.

I'd probably rock B, if necessary.

I bet Bdv is sporting one of those on the back nine right now thinking he's the shizzle...

I would also go with "B" if necessary. I don't care for the Dawg head on the sides, though.

Ain't gonna lie Jeff... I got "D" hanging on my office wall... Christmas gift from a customer...

Out of curiosity...since DCBL posted most, if not all, of the uniforms of the past...which of the past uniforms do all of you prefer? Mine is the 1980 one, but I like several others. I don't like the jersys with the shadow on the numbers. I like 'em plain.

the black shirts do look good, but I am still butthurt about the AL blackout game (I live in Bham)
I do hate the new rounded numbers for this year
it's offseason - time to bicker about petty bullshite - amirite?
I did hate the Boise unis and the black hats we wore against FL
the 1980 shirts work for me

The 1980 jerseys are my favorites. Shoot, I didn't even mind when they paired up to white jerseys with red pants. Herschel looked pretty good in them.

Plain Red with the UGA G logo centered in the front.. the same way the hat was facing to the front... and since you are wondering what I was wearing (Michael Sam) I was wearing a pair of Black Adidas Climalite shorts with a red shirt... I believe the socks were Haynes and the underwear I had hmm FOTL blue Boxer Briefs

I would go with D......
Pretty sad that a chunk of styro-foam in the shape of a bulldog is the least ridiculous hat of the bunch.
