Not to be a downer, but we've heard that for years. They went away somewhere around 2004 or 5ish for some reason that I don't know. Hopefully we get em back for real soon.

Something about not being able to bake the new materials that shiny silver without making them heavy I think is what I read.

General uniform thoughts:
Black jerseys look sharp. It's time they came back. The black helmets were terrible.
The pro combats were terrible. Too much red, too much helmet stripe. The power ranger look wasn't a good one. I hope they burned those things.
I think it would be cool to bring back the white jersey, red pants for a game or two like they had in the 80s.
The rounded numbers aren't as nice as the old block numbers but aren't a big enough deal to make a big fuss over. They look fine,
The silver britches need to be brought back yesterday. It can't be that hard to put more sheen in that fabric.

So what are we looking at in the difference between our current pants and the silver britches? When was the last time we wore true silver britches?

I think we last had true silver britches in like 2004. When they started using new breathable materials, they changed to the current light gray color.
