or will he hang em up before the game really starts to pass him by? Every great coach goes through this and with Saban closing in on his mid 60's, the day will come sooner than some may think. Just curious what y'all think happens first.

I doubt he has a losing season during this decline. He gets too much talent. He'll hang it up before.

idk. i think baring heath problems he will hang on as long as he can. i mean what is he going to do with himself? I can't see him really enjoying retirement and obviously Bama won't push him out.

I assume you're not counting his NFL record here?

UA is going to lose every game next year, save one.

4 in a row happens in DV.

Not unless he were to start over somewhere else. When you're hauling in the talent that he is, you can half-assed coach them and they can have their head up their arse and still win 9 or 10 (see the 2010 season).

No, I don't. After Bryant won 2 #1's in 78-79, he went 27-8-1 his last 3 years. That 'decline' is many teams ceiling.

he'll have a losing season immediately if he coaches in the NFL which has a level playing field. you can't severely out-talent the opponent every week in the NFL.

Do games lost due to probation count?

There is zero reason why he would. I don't see it.

Saban? If he does it'll be a Bobby Bowden type situation. It won't be until much later in his career, if at all.

SEC schedules were a different animal back then, as was the style of play. There is far less margin for error today. A good team having an off year can fall hard, see eg, Florida, Auburn etc recently.
