Our AD can't make a good basketball hire to save his life. It seems likely that this trend continues on Monday.

Get your Google ready to find out who the hell Mizzou just hired as their basketball coach along with the rest of America. That is if you
even care. And if you don't care, well, the fans of Mizzou basketball aren't far behind you.

Is this an anti-jinx thread? I think y'all could get Marshall. I really do.

I'll repeat what I said on the Mizzou board.

All of Alden's basketball hires have been home runs except one, and that one mistake won National Coach of the Year while at Mizzou.

The trend will continue.

That was an enormous hire at the time. It didn't turn out great, but that was a huge get for Mizzou.

Hell, Marshall could come to Columbia, get all coked up and start banging player's girlfriends too. Doesn't make it any worse of a hire.

Gotcha. Didn't think you meant just the hire.

24 hours ago I had irrational exuberance.

It has been replaced by irrational pessimism. Maybe I need a med adjustment.

KCTV5 in Kansas City is reporting Kim Anderson has been offered the job.

Congrats Mizzou.

Pretty sure Bjork was involved in the hire.

Anyway, here's what I can tell you at this moment: In talking to countless people within the industry over the past 48 hours, the only names consistently mentioned by sources are former UCLA coach Ben Howland and Central Missouri coach Kim Anderson. To be clear, that doesn't mean there's not an under-the-radar candidate that could emerge hours before an official announcement because, remember, Cuonzo Martin's name was publicly unattached to the opening at California until he had already agreed to be the next coach at California; sometimes secrets are kept. But I've talked to multiple coaches in the past 48 hours who have been publicly attached to the Missouri opening, and every one of them has said they expect either Howland or Anderson to be named Missouri's next coach soon, and, for what it's worth, I'm hearing Howland more than I'm hearing Anderson.

Howland would definitely bring a style Mizzou isn't used to.

Y'all would go and bring in the most boring brand of basketball after UT and AU both hired uptempo guys......

It's why he wasn't my favorite when this whole thing started going down. If what we're hearing is true and Marshall is staying at WSU, he's my next best.

I can deal with boring arse ball if it wins, I'd probably even prefer it to the street ball we've had in the past.
