outside insuring career ending injuries and letting them finish their degrees after they're done playing, they get all that now

They need a "no child rapist on athletic premises" rule. Also, "no benefits to pay for girlfriend's abortions."

So if a kid leaves school after 3 years to pursue the NFL & big money, the university would be responsible for paying for him to finish his degree? That's BS; if they leave school early, that's their fault.

i'd also say if they're there for 5 years and can't finish their degree it's also their fault. basically, the rule should be that if a player is "processed" the school still has to pay for them to finish their degree

I know AU already does this, I am sure other schools also have a program in place.

Yes, if the school breaks the "contract" of offering a scholly then pulling it (processed not kicked off the team), then they should still get their chance to finish. But if a kid leaves on his own-pursue the NFL, then he should be on his own. Save some of that signing bonus & put it towards finishing that degree.

I'm sure that's for medical hardship cases ... or whatever it is Saban does with'em when they are not contributing.

AU has had players return to get their degree after their Pro playing days are over. Regardless of their financial situation, the AD pays for the tuition and books.

But if he wins your coach a National Championship, you get to riot when the coach is inevitably fired for covering his arse.

Do they name it after the school or the coach?
