Get decision out of the way so it doesn't cut into Coach Spurrier's tee times

"BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference plans to make a decision in the next month on future football scheduling.

Commissioner Mike Slive said the league plans to do so before the league's meetings in Destin, Fla. in late May."

The SEC has the potential to be the ONLY conference not going to 9 games by 2015.

Just follow the B1G's lead like we did with Replay, Television Network and now hopefully 9 conference games.

9 conference games please. I would like more than 1 home game against the east every 14 years. Are we in the same conference or not?

Technically every 12, but this is the biggest thing I think people are missing. 12 years between Gainesville, Knoxville, and Athens? fricking ridiculous.

Agreed.

"We suspect that the new College Football Playoff selection committee will do it’s best to pick teams from four different conferences when it comes selecting who’ll compete for the national crown. Strength of schedule will be a important factor in that process. The Big Ten has announced nine-game schedules beginning in 2016. The Pac-12 is going with nine-games as is the Big 12. ACC commissioner John Swofford said in February that there is “considerable support” for a move to nine games in his league as well. If the SEC doesn’t move to nine, it will be the only major conference playing eight league games… which means SEC teams will likely play one more cupcake than teams in other conferences will. If the selection panel is looking for reasons to keep a second SEC team out of its playoff, you can bet the cupcake issue would loom large." - Mr. SEC.

Arkansas not playing Tennessee more often is complete horse-shite.

I agree. Coaches need to man up and do this thing.

14 teams is too big of a conference, but that bridge has been crossed. Need to play teams more often. And I think we should keep the one perm rival as well. 9 games is the way to do it.

just do the roommate switch with an 8 game conference schedule. you complete a home and away series with every team in the conference in only four years.

that's by far the most efficient means of doing this. the 9 game schedules are terrible because they result in an unequal number of home and away conference games for everyone in the conference. We shouldn't be embracing a more unequal system that other conferences like the PAC now regret. We should be leading the way with an innovative new system.

The uneven H/A game can be easily solved by having everyone play a "neutral site" game like the Cocktail Party.

Go to 9 games.

If you have 1 more conference road game than home game, it gives you 1 more excuse of why you didn't make it.

Also, that means all off season you get to talk about how "next year is the year, because we have an extra home game."

Granted, UGA will always have the built in excuse that we have an extra away game @ Florida every year. That's why I like it....free built-in excuse until 2025 or some shite.

Have we entered the "down with permanent rival" stage yet?

Nope. I like having our permanent rival even if it's a BIG 3 from the West.
