obviously not as big as the Final Four show down from a couple years ago, but let's be real... that UL team had no real chance of hanging with the eventual national champs. Does this make it the 2nd biggest showdown the rivalry's history?

Anyone care to make a prediction?... if the harrisons play like they did against Wichita, UK wins. Louisville does a great job of putting pressure on ball handlers, though.

i'll say 82-76 Louisville.... should be a great game regardless.

Pitino is 11-0 in Sweet 16 games. Calipari is 5-1 against Pitino as the coach of Kentucky.

Kentucky's size gave Louisville a lot of problems earlier this year. They won pretty easily even though Julius Randle missed the entire 2nd half with cramps.

#1 Sweet 16 game in 84 (?) that forced the schools to start playing each other in sports. Without this game, IU would still be UK's primary rival and UK would still be playing UC in football

Media may be acting like this is the biggest thing since sliced bread, but long time fans of both schools may pick other games that did not seem as important at the time.

I guess the only win came last year in louisville... UK played them tough that time as well.

Lexington will be hype tonight if we win. #LexingtonPoliceScanner should be entertaining.

Yep went down to the wire. It took Pitino's championship team to beat Cal's NIT team

Lexington can't get any worse, so it's got that going for it.

There is the money shot!

Pitino has struggled with his former assistant, Tubby.

You've clearly never been to Lexington, Noob. It's one of the best cities in the SEC.

yeah... good point... i just don't know if UKs guard play will hold up, but if it does they stand a great chance.

someone said on the radio that the Regional Semis/Finals in Indy this weekend is the most expensive ticket in sweet 16 history... There have been recent final fours that didn't have the draw of UK, UL, Mich, and UT.

All schools with great basketball fan bases within driving distance. It wouldn't surprise me.

I think KY should win.
The only thing that gives me pause is that this game has a high emotional component. How will KY handle it? Can they string many games with high focus?

I'm rooting for KY here, but after the elite 8, all SEC teams can DIAF except FL

NCAA making sure tickets go to scalpers instead of schools has caused this. Schools only got 1,200 tickets each for a venue that large. Makes you wonder who got the other 90% or more of the total tickets. Many long time donors at several participating schools are mighty unhappy they got shut out. Figure 1,200 tickets per school with 800 going to parents, faculty, staff, students, bands, etc and 400 going to donors. If each big donor only bought 2 tickets, that is only 200 folks got a shot. They need to go back to getting the schools more like 3,000 - 5,000 tickets and let the schools have the tickets before the scalpers.

NCAA greed is killing the game.

the problem is they don't have it set up like a FF with 50,000 tickets. UT travels as welll as any fanbase in the country, but a bunch of them are going to be left out b/c the other three schools gobbled up tickets in anticipation of making it.

Close game in first half, but UK pulls away and wins comfortably in the 2nd.

UK 79
Louisville 65

yeah... this is just sad and the UT guys on the radio this morning were b*tching (with good reason).

It should be based on a percentage of total seats.
