Any SEC teams trying to add back wrestling?

Watching the NCAA wrestling tourney, the announcers touted how good wrestling programs in the NCAA used to be (particularly mentioning Georgia and LSU), and stated that there is some movement for some schools to add it back. I had not heard that.

Any of you heard anything? Perhaps with the extra $$$ from the SEC Network it could be feasible?

We're tired of winning the MAC. I'd rather it be an SEC sport.

Pretty much impossible with the Title IX crap.

In order to achieve "equality" mandated by law they had to kill off a bunch of men's sports people actually cared about and add women's sports nobody cared about.

Only if it includes folding chairs and masked men.

It isn't impossible. You would just have to add in another women's sport, to equal it out.

Like equestrian or rowing or something.

Mizzou manages to field a wrestling team, as does about every B1G team. So it isn't impossible. It just costs money.

I would prefer more teams add men's soccer so the SEC sponsors it. That would of been an added benefit of UVA and UNC if we went to 16(before GOR).

lol no. This is real wrestling, not WWE.

But yeah, Title IX screwed up a lot of collegiate sports for men.

Didn't we just add sand volleyball? That should get us a men's soccer team or wrestling team.

Yeah, we did.

I'd like to see a lacrosse or rugby team.

Meh. I'd rather add NCAA Hockey.

How about actual wrestling, where each conference is a territory?

Lacrosse is really picking up steam in the South for the youth...that should be next.

I'd like men's soccer too.

Seems like between field hockey, rowing, fencing, and bowling (all sponsored by the NCAA), you could add enough, given the cash infusion to the conference, to add men's soccer and wrestling.

It is not a cash issue, it is a Title IX issue.

Lacrosse has been picking up popularity, especially in northern Louisiana.

Huge ACC sport also.
