4 equestrian teams
Guessing the threshold is between 25% and 50%
Thanks

I'm not sure what USCjr has sacrificed to make room for their women's soccer team. We never sacrificed any team to my knowledge. I'm not sure of the scholarship limits for all of the teams outside of baseball, football, basketball and women's basketball though.
Not sure but I know we don't have a gymnastics team like a lot of SEC schools do.
If I'm not mistaken the SEC only requires 4 of its schools to be officially sponsored as a league sport, which is how Equestrian got in there.

Like equestrian
Maybe some teams can add equestrian which currently lacks SEC sponsorship

Some SECe schools are. Word on the street is that Ric Flair is going to be the HC for SC and Goldberg is going to be the HC UGA.
Tennessee's got their coach tabbed...Kevin Nash

We have gymnastics but no NCAA sponsored equestrian team.

Alabama has a few men's sports they would add before wrestling. Soccer, lacrosse, hockey, etc.

Watermelon seed spittin', bird killin', and mud boggin' are not NCAA sanctioned sports.

9 men's sports
Baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, swimming & diving, tennis, indoor T&F, and outdoor T&F. Looks like VU only sponsors 6 of the 9.
UK has Rifle in GARC
MU has Wrestling in MAC
UK and USC have Soccer in CUSA
12 women's sports
Basketball, cross country, equestrian, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, indoor T&F, and outdoor T&F, and volleyball. Looks like VU only sponsors 8 of the 12.
Only Auburn and Georgia have the full 12 as they both have equestrian. South Carolina has equestrian but no gymnastics, same with Texas A&M.
Alabama and Tennessee have rowing in CUSA
Florida and Vanderbilt have lacrosse in the ALC
Kentucky and Mississippi have rifle in the GARC
FWIW, equestrian is an SEC winter sport.

I'm going to need to see the connection first to believe it. You got a picture with him in a hat, or eating donuts with Fulmer and Razor Ramone?

I am a little surprised most of the school don't have NCAA soccer teams. Maybe as the mexification of 'merica continues we'll start seeing more schools sign up.

Lacrosse has been picking up popularity, especially in northern Louisiana.
Lacrosse (French for "The Stick") was created by American Indians with goals miles apart and hundreds of players dropping in and out. It's a great sport!
My son played in high school and I grew to love the sport. Jim Brown is considered to be the best Lacrosse player ever.

Depends on how entrenched the youth soccer is in the state. KY has been big on youth soccer for ages. The one that surprises me is the Gators not having a team. Same with TAMU just based on the size of the school. TAMU Quidditch before TAMU soccer?
Seems like the last to add soccer would be the AL schools or the MS schools followed by Vanderbilt just because they sponsor so few sports.

At the University of Tennessee, Nash was a center for the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team. He remained on the team from 1977 to 1980, during which time the team made it to the NCAA Sweet 16.[9] Following a physical altercation with head coach Don DeVoe and a series of other on-campus incidents, Nash did not play a fourth year for the Volunteers,[8][10] and he attempted to transfer to Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Women's soccer at A&M actually has a very decent following.
The team is among one of the nation's best, and they always draw a great crowd out there.
Good times.
I think it's just a matter of time until the men field a team as well.

Men's wrestling is gay. Now if we can add women's wrestling (>5'5" and <125 lbs) then I'm all for it.
