they appear to be trying to pull the same crap with the SECN as they have done with the Pac12 Network (which they still don't carry):

Clay Travis ?@ClayTravisBGID 22m
DirecTV is emailing SEC fans who have requested @SECNetwork that they "have no current plans to carry the SEC Network." Be forewarned.

I dont understand why they would announce this now. Because you know there is a good chance a deal gets made before august.

But customers wont wait. They'll see this email and just say frick it im out and switch.

Very peculiar from directv's standpoint

Dumped cable anyway. Maybe I will just sign up for football season. I will know all options available then.

I don't get it either. Maybe they had little attrition from not carrying the Pac12 Network, and think they can get away with it in SEC Country.

If that's what they think, though, that seems very misguided

I honestly thing DirecTV won't have a deal in place before next season. They have their NFL package so they can afford to let SEC fans switch to Dish.

Which sucks, as I will keep DirecTV as Saints Football > SEC Football. Will just have to watch shitty pirate streams.

Old women love playing the "who is pregnant on TWC" game.

i guess. I dont have that issue. Saints come on fox. With the redzone the NFL Sunday Ticket hasnt been appealing to me for a long time.

I just like watching during hurricane and tornado season.

I get local weather on my phone or local news stations.

I live in Texas. The Cowboys come on Fox. Saints come via Direct Ticket.

My question is; what is the hold up on Comcast not getting on board with the SECN yet? Are they that worried it will take viewers away from CSS?

there is 6 months to go. a lot of providers are probably just trying to still bargain it out. I doubt many are in a hurry just yet.

I figured as much. But you have to figure all of Comcast's target audience have probably inundated them with emails and calls to pick up SECN. They should be one of the first providers to commit to it.
