People want to harp on The University of Georgia for underachieving in the big 3 sports year in and year out, and only excelling in sports that "don't matter" (country club).

But what about Texas A&M? They have all the big oil tycoon boosters, a state that has all the resources (so their residents think so, otherwise they wouldn't want to separate from the Union). They are nearby 2 very large metro areas (larger than Atlanta)..

..... yet they have a mediocre football history, a dismal basketball history, and a laughable baseball history.

Is there any reason to this? I know I live in the Deep North and all, and Texas A&M is pretty irrelevant up here, so enlighten me SEC brethren.

Girlie, when you thaw out we'll talk. Meanwhile stick to shoveling snow.

Don't worry they are pretty irrelevant down here too. Fortunately they embrace that role and are comfortable with it.

I get 5, not 6:

Houston
San Antonio
Dallas
Austin
Fort Worth

Arlington would be a close 6; but Atlanta is a little larger.

No, it isn't. I'm not sure why that's relevant?

population of Austin = 842,592
population of Atlanta = 443,775

You've never actually been to Atlanta, have you?
