I'm sure that every head coach in the SEC knew who Roddy White was coming out of high school. He went to UAB because he's borderline retarded.

Yea, because we all sign scholars.

In case you were wondering, UAB is a really good school. Much better than Ole Miss, LSU, MSU, Arky, etc...

I mean I don't totally know what I am talking about but outside of their med school it's really not that good. And their med school isn't exactly elite. I wanna say their football admission standards are actually pretty low. Not that UGA signs rhodes scholars but I don't think UAB is that great.

I'd be willing to bet they have higher admissions standards than the schools I listed. I haven't looked it up but from what I remember UAB isn't Georgia Southern

Not that it's the be all end all, but U.S. News has UAB at 149th nationally. Well behind Bama and Auburn, tied with Ole Miss.

Most importantly, the dude doesn't even count towards our 85 which is the most important part because of our history regarding off season defections.

Every player who gets a scholarship counts toward the 85 limit. This is not a chance to pick up a free player unless he's a walk-on.

I was happy with what Pruitt did with the talent he had on defense this year, but our defensive recruiting is a bit odd right now. We're taking chances on a fair number of lightly recruited guys, including some that were nearly unknown. Since CMR doesn't like to kick kids off the team for lack of talent, that could be an issue in coming years.

That's about where I expected. Better than the Miss schools but behind the two big state schools.

It's not really that odd. To me, it looks like Pruitt doesn't give two shits about how developed or well-coached a prospect is. He's looking for long, fast athletes. The lower rated guys all fit that mold. Fast being the main thing.

We're going to have a bunch of highly rated defensive signees, but a 30 man class is going to have 3*s in it. There isn't a guy on that list that I look at and say, "that guy has no shot." That hasn't always been true in the past. The reason Georgia defensive talent got as low as it is now was taking too many low-upside guys who looked the part at age 17.

It has been put out there than Ganus was the leading tackler for UAB with 70 including 16.5 TFL and 6 sacks. UAB fans say he was a beast so it sounds like a win for us.

Went to the UAB site and didn't see any 2014 stats on him, but here are some things from 2013 on him:

-Was team leader in tackles with 93, including 58 solo
-One INT, one forced fumble
-Registered double-digit tackles in three games
-named to Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll

Sounds solid. As others have said, we need depth there so I'm happy with this.

Won't count against the 25 or EE numbers. Will count against the 85, but we never have 85 anyway

I suppose it isn't technically a done deal until he enrolls, but he committed to Georgia

Did I read correctly that we get Donte Jacksons last visit? Hope it works out better than Huggins' last visit we had that he cancelled..
