On Josh Malone I'm being told by those close to Josh Malone that today he signed his financial papers to Tennessee. I'll let Paul check on this later for you guys but figured I would pass this along.

The only papers mentioned to me that were signed today for Financial aid were Tennessee. Not saying it's 100% that he's heading to Tennessee but figured that was a big enough of a note I would pass it on here and let Paul follow up with it.

I think its been pretty much a given for a long time that he was going to UT. Looks to be a very nice and very polished reciever. Nice get.

Nice pickup. May he have as much success against us as the other WRs that have signed with TN during the Saban era.

He will also be signing the same papers with UGA and FSU.

I just read this as well. This isn't over. Family wants all staffs to be able to freely communicate.

I would say UT is the favorite though

No surprise here...Malone has stated he is treating this as more of a NFL style "free agent" situation, to some folks close to him. Let the bidding war begin...

So y'all are obligated to save him a spot even though he is not obligated to take the spot that you save? Seems like that could get complicated, particularly with NSD decisions. I can't imagine saving a spot for a kid only for him to sign elsewhere, and not having the time to replace him.

You can't sign financial aid unless you are an EE. So we would have time to replace him

Not an NSD announcement. He'll announce Dec 4th.

He's deciding on Dec 4 or something like that so we wouldn't have to save a spot for long. Otherwise I doubt we'd do that

Apparently FSU's coaches leaked the info, which is not what Josh and his family wanted.

Always was in my opinion. He's an SEC kid. FSU has distance working against them.

So I read that Tennessee, Georgia and FSU coaches will be allowed to talk about Malone publicly now. Is that right?

Yes if this is true. Would be pretty crazy actually. There are no more contact rules. Malone might ask them not to speak publicly though

Wow. I have a feeling won't end well. How did the NCAA let this happen?

It's a loophole that they left open with the introduction of this new financial papers rule. They'll probably change it for next year
