is it cause they only have 1 loss and we have 2?

since when does strength of schedule not play a part?...just look at our September..fricking bullshite...and another thing, Mizzou only ranked 1 spot higher...what is it with not figuring in the fact they have played like...nobody...until us...i hate the ranking system...

Aren't we ranked the highest of the two-loss teams?

Uhhh yeah..obviously. Why should we be ranked ahead of them? We slept through North Texas, escaped a bad UT team, and lost to an overrated missouri team. We don't deserve to be higher than 15th right now.

Polls are fluid, they change every weekend. If we win this weekend and missouri loses, we'll be ranked ahead of them even with 1 more loss and a HTH loss to them.

Here's the thing. If we want to win the east, we have to win out first and foremost, which includes beating UF.

We need missouri to lose 2 games. They have UF, SC, ole miss, and aTm left to play. It doesn't matter who they lose to as long as they lose 2. So if you want to pull for florida, fine, but it's not a requirement yet.

yeah i guess we are but still...it is irritating the gauntlet we went through with this young team and Mizzou/USCe plays the st marys catholic school for girls and they are ranked higher...i am a big fan of...and have always been a strength of shedule guy...unfortunately in this era, that shite doesn't matter...

And we were rewarded for that, being ranked 6th even with a loss.

What's your logic there? I already explained it pretty clearly above. They have 4 losable games left, and have to lose 2. aTm is an almost certain loss. UF and SC are likely losses..tossups at best. And I should remind you that what fans hope happens has no bearing on what happens on the field. If UF wins, fine. If missouri wins, fine.

If we played USCe or Mizzou today who wins? I think the polls are accurate for the moment.

They also still have to play UT.

Yeah, I still believe that that shite-tastic turf at Neyland is responsible for 2 of the 3 ACL injuries that day.

Well, other than all the reasons everybody else listed, if we played SC again with so many lost players, we would probably lose.

Exactly, it's why we should have gone to the SECCG last year and the year before.

The ranking is also about where we are right now. Right now, we have two losses, including one to the #25 team (at the time), which was a major upset.

Right now, we have a craptastic defense and our awesome offense is not so awesome anymore due to injuries. It could be argued that we should be even lower in the polls right now, but perhaps our wins over LSU and SC are keeping up higher than we would be otherwise.

I have no problem with SC being ranked higher right now.
