To all you that are saying the defense totally sucks need to actually look at the the drive summaries.

North Texas Drive Summaries

15:00 1 02:17 UNT 29 5 18 Punt

08:40 1 02:58 UNT 20 5 14 Punt
03:41 1 03:41 UNT 24 6 13 Punt
14:46 2 04:53 UNT 14 10 86 Passing Touchdown
00:00 0 00:15 UGA 0 6 99 Kickoff Return Touchdown
04:13 2 01:25 UNT 10 3 8 Punt
00:57 2 00:54 UNT 3 3 2 Punt
00:00 2 00:00 UNT 35 0 0 End of Half
11:23 3 01:30 UNT 9 3 1 Punt
07:11 3 01:47 UNT 25 5 48 Interception
00:43 3 00:51 UNT 35 3 0 Punt
14:02 4 00:51 UNT 34 3 -1 Punt

03:45 4 01:45 UNT 25 7 16 Turnover on Downs
01:46 4 01:46 UNT 38 7 39 End of Half

They only had one good drive that lead to their only offensive TD. You want to lay blame for the tight score ... levy that to Special Teams. Defense only gave up 1 score.

They really need to work on protecting against the pass. We did well overall against the rush this time around but we have to do better if we're going to stop real offenses.

I agree ... defense really needs to improve, but today wasn't as bad as a lot on this board seem to think.

It was North Texas. Is that our barometer for good defense? Look at the games against Clemson and South Carolina...because that's more indicative of the talent level we'll be dealing with against LSU.

LSU has the athletes and some big men on the OL...I'm glad this UGA defense will at least have been through 3 games and isn't quite as green as when they walked on the field against Clemson.

The only reassuring part is that we're facing a classic drop-back passer and not a Taj Boyd....

13 points the last 6 quarters. we're finally having playmakers make plays.

It isn't perfection. But it's getting more physical and a little bit lucky.

LSU'S defense does not scare me. UGA is going to torch those motherfrickers.

So many on this board have been bitching about our run defense. Some of the complaining on here is ridiculous.

Don't get too excited.

Grantham has had a good run defense until he comes up against a team that can throw vertically. then, he has no answer except for getting turnovers.

Next week will be interesting.

On the one hand I agree. however, we stuffed the run up the middle and that is primarily where LSU lives. That said, N. Texas was very predictable, running the ball almost exclusively on first down. LSU won't do this.

Mettenberger looked pretty unremarkable, though, I must say. He was ok, but not showing the improvement many LSU fans have been touting. In other words, I think we cna put away the Heisman talk they have been trotting out!

Well, Mett may have looked unremarkable, but the O-Line, FB, and RB looked unstoppable in the first half last night. I think Mr. Langley will have his hands full on PA all day long. They will pick on him until he can prove otherwise. We are fricked on D next week, but it will be a shoot-out. Prediction, LSU 35 - UGA 31. Any way you slice it, they played AU in a down poor and we played NT in one. AU's D is it terrible and they were shell shocked early. I think our D-Line will have some trouble with the run game. We should be "ok" against the pass. If they run the ball well, we lose 28 - 24 (more probable score to me). Bye season. They are too good up front fellas, sorry. Also, I am being optimistic on this one.

On O, we have great talent. On D, they have batter talent than any team we have played this year. The only way we win the game is by Murray playing an "Alabama type" game and controlling the clock. This is plausible, but LSU will have to stop the run. If NT did it, they can too! They will force us to win the game with Passing, Defense, and SPECIAL TEAMS!!! Once again AM is the key for us having a shot in this one. Let's see if he has grown up at all.

I don't want to hear any home field advantage BS!!
