Would you rather a 2010 Auburn season or a 2009 Alabama season?

Would you rather have your team go undefeated with the majority of your games being close thrillers that you could lose, or would you rather your team go undefeated with the majority of your games being blowouts where you're assured victory by the 3rd quarter?

2010 Auburn had eight close games that were still competitive very late in the 4th quarter. (Miss St, Clemson, South Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU, Alabama, Oregon)

2009 Alabama had 2. (Tennessee, LSU)

I can think of another game that was fairly competitive well into the 4th.

Auburn was killed by Saban. Are you a ghost?

Probably 2010 Auburn. It was just a fun season, interesting season. Nothing was guaranteed, which would have it all the sweeter.

I like blowouts. frick a bunch of "excitement". Total domination is fun for me.

If LSU had a rival, I'd pick 2010 Auburn for the awesome victory over Bama. But I'd take 2011 LSU with a win on 1/9 in terms of regular season success.

ETA: whoops

Not sure. It's fun to dominate, but it's also hard to beat the thrill of a last possession type game. Maybe a mix is the best - more similar to Bama 2009 with mostly dominating games mixed in with three tights ones with your biggest rivals (Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU ended up being the closest games I think).

Were you born in 2009 or something?

Scores at the end of the 3rd quarter, Alabama 2009:

Virginia Tech 17 Alabama 16
Alabama 13 South Carolina 6
Auburn 21 Alabama 20
Alabama 9 Tennessee 3
LSU 15 Alabama 10
Alabama 19 Florida 13
Alabama 21 Texas 13 (Cut to 24-21 with 6:15 left in the game)

In 7 of Alabama's 14 games, they either trailed or led by a touchdown or less in the fourth quarter.

09 Bama...Although I would take either.

The SECCG in 2010 was, IMHO, the most satisfying win of the season. Total domination.

I'd say that is probably the norm for BCSC teams.

Give me 2010 Auburn. Every game was really fun minus the cupcakes. And I don't think you can beat the joy of being down 24-0 to your biggest rival and coming all the way back to save your National Title.

It would be nice to just dominate the whole season though.

Probably so, but it is a far cry from the OP's assertion that Bama only had 2 close games and only one (maybe two, I'm not taking the time to look) fewer than AU 2010.

2009 Alabama. Stronger statement made by punking Tebow and the Gators in the SECG.
