1. clock should not stop after first down except in last 2 minutes of a half WITHDRAWN
2. TV contracts and commercials should be modeled after NFL
THIS IS THE BIG PROBLEM
3. overtime should be like NFL- WITHDRAWN

Why? Its not the NFL ...the differences are there for a reason. I actually think the NFL should adopt the CFB style for OT

Bama games, even with shite tons of adverts, aren't 4.5 hours long.
Bama kicks your arse, then runs out the clock. Run that uptempo losing football. Tell me how Bham is in January...right, Ole Miss?

So you like the long TV timeouts?
Go to an NFL game. TV timeouts are considerably shorter and when they list kickoff at 1 pm- the toe hits leather at 1 pm.
In college 330 kickoff is 338 or so.

I will never understand the obsession some people have with trying to make what it's possibly one of the very best things in life, a college football game, SHORTER.
What are you going to do with that extra hour and a half spent not watching the greatest game on earth? Seriously. Are you going to build aqueducts or volunteer at a pediatric ICU or something?
News flash: your time isn't so valuable that it needs to be saved at the expense of altering college football. Sit, watch and be thankful for it.

They've already done this. It's been this way for 2 seasons

Agreed

No..that's horrible. Move it back to the 35 so each team isn't already in FG range

I enjoy football.
I don't enjoy the LONG TV timeouts which have consistently gotten longer and longer each year.

End all the fricking commercials

Sounds like you have the attention span of a 4 year old. If you hate the commercials so much, DVR the game and start it about an hour after kickoff. Then you can FF thru the commercials for the majority of the game.

So, you think commercials do nothing to ruin a game? Even those fun little TV timeouts that last for-fricking-ever during a momentous portion of the game?
I know everyone hates soccer(as do I outside of the World Cup), but the flow of the game in soccer kicks the shite out of footballs current setup.

I don't agree but I think the one thing they should adopt is if the WR catches the ball and slips or falls down without contact he should be able to get up and continue the play.

The seemingly ridiculous amount and length of TV timeouts are what grinds me. I don't know enough about the business side of it to comment on a fix, but that is the one thing that irritates the shite out of me.
Whenever I watch a PPV game, or go to a game that isn't on national TV, it's over in about 3 hours. All the same clock rules etc.
It's the TV shite that adds an hour and a half.
Especially when you are at the game, just sitting there, watching about 1.5 hours of nothing throughout the game.
Even UGA's spring game this year was that way, 3 or 4 plays get ran, then everyone just sits there for five minutes while people at home get told about the $5 footlong special at Subway, or the Gameday Bucket, followed by Charter Internet commercial etc.
