Got 2 of the old style, my new ones are due in Nov...
FWIW... My next door neighbor had to get his new tags last week. Either the state or County is out of new tags & due to budget crunch won't be issuing new metal plates in Douglas Co.(assuming all co.'s are the same).
All he received was new '14 tag stickers (black colored) & the instructions say to put them on his old tags...
Not sure if this affects vanity tags farther down the line?? Hope so, I like old style...

IF you already have a tag, you always just get a new yearly tag unless you request a different tag design.

And I'm not going to pay extra for the red and black UGA surgically implanted microchip when they start making us get those either.........

The new style of plate (flattened) allows for a more colorful license plate and better designs. I feel like that's the reason they went to this new style, to make money off colorful plates.

Is it really so much to ask for a generic white metal raised letter tag with no design (no slogans or special interest groups, and damn sure no peaches), nothing but black letters and the date sticker and county shite? They should offer these for $10 and then force everyone else to pick a category and pay some coin.
